One of my favorite features in #RISCOSMerlin, the kernel recovers from when legacy modules fail to initialise. Proper protected calls implementation that give Merlin an impressive level of robusteness even during the delicate phase of system startup.

ALT An example of how Merlin's Secure Calls work and recover when a Kernel Module fails to initialise. This allows merlin to survive pretty bad issues durign both system start up or modules loading. There is more about RISC OS Merlin security and resiliance here:

You can see this and more at the forthcoming RISC OS London Show. Remember Merlin is way more than just a RISC OS modern redesing and reimplementation in #Rust. Merlin is about a memory safe, reusable, portable and extremely fast new customisable kernel.
Very sorry to hear this news. ๐ฅ
I never had the chance to meet Margaret Hamilton, but her contributions to the flight software that got us to the moon are legendary. I love this image of her standing next to the printouts of the Apollo code.

Weโre in Cybersecurity Awareness Month, so hereโs a basic question: what is cybersecurity, actually?
My answer: the possibility to define rules and constraints, and the capability to enforce them.
Why it matters:

Dear students, you are still our future. Do not surrender. Learning is not just a path to a job; it is about understanding the world, ourselves, and your field. People who offload everything to AI risk intellectual atrophy. Don't give up on your life!

getting #RISCOSMerlin to be able to boot on #UEFI is being a lot of fun and a great opportunity to learn in more details UEFI on AArch64 vs my old knowledge of UEFI on Intel/AMD. The fun part if always the learning.

Got this prototype beast from @Mirko_DIY on my workbench and it's going brilliantly, with CM4 and especially CM5.
I'm looking forward to this project getting some more love and development after the designer's well earned summer break!
I finally had a bit of time to upload a video with the first system boot into graphic demo for #MerlinOS It works fine on @raspberrypi 2, 3 and 4, but the video is from #QEMU which makes it easy to record both kernel logs and Pi 2 display

New blog article: Debugging a Tiny LLM to Understand What Happens Between a Prompt and a Response.
A practical, beginner-friendly look at how LLMs work internally, using debugging-style examples.
