#RISC_OS#GitHub Community - #OpenSource software for modern RISC OS and #ARM. We love old #Acorn Archies too! If you have RISC OS code on GitHub let us know!
#RISC_OS question: Which versions of RISC OS do you use? Twitter Polls are for single answer, so can you please post your list of releases here below as a comment? We all use multiple versions, and this question is to ensure we are supporting all the most used releases, thx!
A test of #RISCOSMerlin exploring the PCIe bus in full on AArch64 (works on AArch32, x86 and x86_64 too) and the part I love the most is the fact that Merlin Kernel and HAL can do safe tear down of all direct and indirect allocated resources when healing from faulty driver, yup!
ALT RISC OS Merlin exploring a PCIe bus and being able to recover from any issues without crashing the entire system. Because Merlin's HAL is standardised across ARM, RISC-V, Intel/AMD and more this works on every supported platform.
One of my favorite features in #RISCOSMerlin, the kernel recovers from when legacy modules fail to initialise. Proper protected calls implementation that give Merlin an impressive level of robusteness even during the delicate phase of system startup.

ALT An example of how Merlin's Secure Calls work and recover when a Kernel Module fails to initialise. This allows merlin to survive pretty bad issues durign both system start up or modules loading. There is more about RISC OS Merlin security and resiliance here:

The #RISC_OS Community on GitHub is for and about people who want to learn and grow, we strongly believe in what we can achieve having fun, so please dear students do not surrender; here we are always happy to celebrate your true achievements, not dangerous shortcuts ❤️
Dear students, you are still our future. Do not surrender. Learning is not just a path to a job; it is about understanding the world, ourselves, and your field. People who offload everything to AI risk intellectual atrophy. Don't give up on your life!

Nice work to Alban Read on this QEMU fork to run #RISC_OS 5.30 on A72 Rpi4 and sources available here (for mac, linux and all platfroms where QEMU builds): github.com/albanread/RISCOSQ…
I finally had a bit of time to upload a video with the first system boot into graphic demo for #MerlinOS It works fine on @raspberrypi 2, 3 and 4, but the video is from #QEMU which makes it easy to record both kernel logs and Pi 2 display

As questions about the previous post on #RISC_OS today's and tomorrow start flowing, I posted a new article with some answers to some of those. Please remember this is an open discussion, so if I have made errors please send me the corrections, thank you!

Here we go, plan in motion. Not just for Merlin, but in the hope to create a collaborative environment and make RISC OS even more fun to use and play with!
New big post about the present and future of #RISC_OS. Open for corrections. First focus: the kernel.
Anyone who wish to provide corrections please let me know, thx!
