The phrase "dog abuse" has been removed from the list of prohibited behaviors in the official regulations of a Chinese 🇨🇳 city!
#JusticeForWangWang !
The legislative body in Ningde, Fujian, please explain why the anti-abuse clause was deleted.
On February 27, 2026, the draft of the "Regulations on Dog Ownership in Ningde City" explicitly prohibited "abandoning or abusing dogs" in Article 17, Item 6. The officially released version on October 10, 2026, removed "abuse" and only retained the prohibition against abandoning dogs.
The regulations will come into effect on January 1, 2027.
Fourth, serious incidents continue to occur.

"We can no longer simply wait for the future.
Simply submitting legislative proposals is no longer sufficient to address the real problems that are currently unfolding.
A colleague suggested that channels such as the "Leaders' Message Board" on People's Daily Online could be further utilized to file complaints, report issues, and inquire about specific local events.
We must strive for a future system while also monitoring its implementation today.
Fight forgetting with records, leaving evidence for change.
