Three projects making future yield tradable: @spectra_finance, @ExponentFinance, and @RateX_Dex.
Yield markets let users lock a rate, provide liquidity around rate expectations, or trade future income separately from principal.
Here’s what stands out in each:
1/ Spectra: Create a yield market
Spectra lets anyone create markets for compatible ERC-4626 yield-bearing tokens.
It separates principal into PT and future yield into YT. Users can buy discounted PT for a fixed-term return or buy YT for exposure to future yield.
The useful part: asset issuers can give their yield a market.
2/ Exponent: Quote a range of rates
Exponent v2 brings concentrated liquidity to Solana’s rate markets.
LPs choose an implied APY range and earn trading fees while the market stays inside it. Outside that range, fee generation stops.
Rate limit orders also let traders target specific rates.
The useful part: liquidity providers can express a rate view through where they deploy capital.
3/ RateX: Long or short yield with margin
RateX lets traders deposit margin and borrow assets to build leveraged long or short YT positions.
That creates exposure to changes in the market’s implied yield. Adverse moves can trigger liquidation.
The useful part: a dedicated venue for leveraged yield views.
Together, these projects give issuers, LPs, and traders more ways to price future income.
One distinction matters throughout: fixing a rate does not remove the underlying asset or protocol risk.
