For the 5th year, the City of Glendale is using grazing goats to reduce wildfire fuel in strategic locations within Very High Fire Hazard Zones.
This is the second deployment this year, following brush-clearing work in April. The goats are helping clear grasses, weeds and other vegetation in an area with significant natural fuel that can contribute to wildfire spread.
Goats are a valuable wildfire mitigation tool because they can navigate steep, challenging terrain while naturally reducing vegetation and excess fuel.
