“Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!”
As Christians, we do not rest our hope on chance. Our assurance is grounded in the promises of God and the finished work of Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith, not by our own works or our ability to live perfectly.
When doubts arise, we can return to the certainty of God’s Word:
“And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:11–13

While no single sentence can capture the fullness of the Reformed tradition, at minimum it means three things: to be biblical, to be covenantal, and to be confessional.
We need to know where those roots came from: thegospelcoalition.org/revie…

In this week’s Wisdom Wednesday, we remember Dr. John W.P. Oliver, former Professor of Homiletics and Practical Theology Emeritus, as he reflects on nurturing our calling to ministry. He reminds us of the importance of guarding our personal devotional walk with the Lord, allowing him to shape our hearts as we prepare to minister the Word of God to others.
Following Dr. Oliver’s recent passing, we give thanks for his life, his faithful service to the church, and the gospel legacy that will continue to shape future generations.

Why did Sammie choose RTS? He saw a deep love for God’s word and a commitment to its authority.
At RTS, students learn to read, study, and teach Scripture, and to live in light of what it says. As Sammie puts it, “I chose RTS because it is an institution that loves the word of God.”
