Any Zoom over 7 people is ridiculous. - 1 person presenting their heart out
- 2 people listening
- everyone else checking email/twitter or playing wordle
I canβt deal with more than 2 back-to-back meetings at a time.
Even 2 is a lot.
By the time Iβm done my energy needs to be replenished and I have less of it for core work.
Thankful that this is rare for me but hate to see friends dealing with crammed meeting days. Go async.
If you hire international employees but unsure how to plan and budget for costs, Rhiannon would love to learn from you!
(DMs open if you're interested!)
I'm looking to chat with business leaders/HR/people folks who are directly involved with hiring international employees!
OR who are interested in hiring their first international employees! πππ
Can compensate for your time. RT for reach! π
When doing 1-1s with your team,
Make the other person feel in control.
Share your observations, not your judgments.
Ask questions, don't make assumptions.
Address their concerns.
Listen, really listen.
Most importantly, follow through on your commitments.
So exciting to get messages like these from readers. π₯²
This is the year to get that fully remote job youβve been dreaming of!! π remoteworkera.com
When something isnβt working out but you canβt let go, thinking βIβll never have an opportunity like this again!β
β¦there are ALWAYS bigger and better opportunities to come that will be more in line with your needs and dreams. β€οΈ

On the topic of mental health in the workplace, I transparently block off my calendar for therapy and psychiatry appointments.
I don't know if anyone notices, but in case they do, it's a small way of helping break the stigma. π

If your job can be performed remotely, you should have the right to request it!
That is what Ireland decided this week by making it a legal right for employees to request remote work from their employers.
Hopefully more countries follow their lead.
