Today, I’m excited to announce that @USDOT’s CRISI program has awarded WV nearly $35 million in federal funding to repair and modernize two of our railroads.  The first project dedicates over $25 million to repair 20 bridges, replace rails, and install new safety sensors along the A&O Railroad between Grafton, Philippi, Buckhannon and Burnsville. The second project will put upwards of $9 million toward replacing 10 miles of worn-out track on the South Branch Valley Railroad in Grant, Hardy and Hampshire counties.  Both projects will help ensure local businesses can continue to bring their goods to market and support jobs across our great state.  I am proud to support the CRISI program through my work on @HouseAppropsGOP.

Grateful that @FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center at Bridgeport City Hall today. Many Mountaineers are still reeling from the severe storms and devastating flooding that hit our state this summer.  This center will provide direct, in-person assistance to Harrison County families and can help them access the federal resources that @POTUS has made available to help West Virginians recover. Starting tomorrow, the center will be open from 7:30 AM–4 PM, Monday through Saturday.  My office also stands ready to help anyone affected by these floods. Bridge Day is tomorrow!  Every third Saturday in October, thousands gather at the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County to celebrate its 1977 completion and watch BASE jumpers leap nearly 900 feet into the gorge.  Our state is truly wild and wonderful!
