Great to see this mission helping our residents!
Mary and her veteran husband were trying to figure out what comes next after a massive tree came down on their home during Hurricane #Isaias. Her 21-year-old daughter was standing in the kitchen when the tree landed just above her. She was lucky to walk away unharmed, but their home wasn’t so lucky. Yesterday, we delivered them an EmergencyRV through our partnership with @FLSERT — giving their family a safe place to stay while they focus on getting their home back. They have a long road ahead, but they don’t have to figure out where they’re going to sleep tonight and that’s a good place to start. Give at emergencyrv.org to support our work sheltering families.

Hence why I said “vast majority” of taxpayers. I’m aware of those provisions. The primary impact (both from a fiscal perspective and from the number of taxpayers affected perspective) of the legislation, though, was to make the TCJA rates permanent.

Sorry Gov, taxes were cut on tips, overtime, SALT in many states and some SS recipients.

It will be a great World Series between two good, small market teams!
When I met @RonDeSantis in Milwaukee last month we talked baseball. He told me he expected the @Brewers and @RaysBaseball to make the @MLB World Series. Dude knows baseball.

Dunston had an unbelievable throwing arm at SS. I’m sure he would hit 100mph if they gunned infield throws like they do today.

Thank you Gov for all that you've done. I appreciate your support of the elderly & for creating the conditions for businesses to thrive. I now employ 100 people. Kudos for replacing the idiotic DEI naratives in the schools w/real history+focus on math & reading. You're the man!

This is because the primary impact of the reconciliation bill was to prevent tax rates from rising to the pre-TCJA baseline; it didn’t cut taxes further for the vast majority of taxpayers. It prevented a tax increase. Voters will process this differently than if they received an additional tax cut.

Do you support this? DESANTIS: Now in Florida, at our public Universities, ALL tenured professors must undergo review once every five years and can be TERMINATED for poor performance!

That was a federal program, not a state program. We are the first state to do our own program, which we debuted after Ian in 2022. FEMA would never be able to deliver trailers within ten weeks of a storm, much less ten days.

We have begun delivering travel RVs to displaced residents, including Debbie who will now be able to remain on her property while her home is fixed.
Since Hurricane Isaias made landfall, we have been working to ensure that those affected by this storm have the assistance they need to get back on their feet. We are operating seven Multi-Agency Resource Centers where Floridians can learn about available assistance and get connected with recovery resources. Thanks to our partnership with Emergency RV, we have started providing travel trailers to Floridians displaced by significant hurricane damage, so they have a safe place to live while they rebuild. We’re also committed to helping the first responders whose homes were impacted by the storm and still showed up to serve their communities. With funding from the Florida Sheriffs Association, we are providing these first responders with $5,000 each to show our gratitude. Schools in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties have reopened and resumed normal operations. We’re grateful for the hard work of school teams, transportation crews, and all our partners who helped make them safe for students and staff. For more information on Hurricane Isaias resources, visit FloridaDisaster.org.

Same. I watched WGN as a kid — the Cubs played a lot of day games and the Braves were on TBS at night. Neither team was good but they both had some great players and it was fun to watch.

That Montreal Expo's turf was about the worst playing surface you could find for a guy with knee problems. It's amazing he played as long as he did, at such a high level.

Andre Dawson had a devastating knee injury in high school. Scouts lost interest. He didn’t get a college scholarship. Many would have quit, but he walked on at FAMU, earned a scholarship, got drafted and then made it to the Show. Even as he battled knee problems his whole career, he won the NL ROY, NL MVP, and 8 x Gold Gloves. Result: Hall of Fame.
Today, I was proud to present the Governor’s Medal of Freedom to Baseball Hall of Famer and great Floridian Andre Dawson. His distinguished career in Major League Baseball, his contributions to the sport, and his lasting impact on our state have earned him this award. From his childhood in Southwest Miami, to his college days at FAMU, to his legendary MLB career, “The Hawk” has represented Florida in the best possible way for decades. His generous support of FAMU and its baseball program has helped generations of student-athletes succeed. The Governor’s Medal of Freedom is the highest honor I can bestow on any Floridian, and Andre Dawson truly deserves this recognition.

The “Hawk,” Andre Dawson, is one of the greatest athletes the state of Florida has ever produced. He overcame debilitating knee injuries to achieve a career worthy of induction in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Well deserved honor for one of greats!
