🚨 Hubli-based Gridflow has developed an autonomous electric pod transit system prototype, with pods travelling on dedicated guideways.
Their pod is designed to carry up to 4 people or 400 kg at 30km/h, with a 60 km/h full-speed demonstration planned on a longer guideway.
This Indian robot has the potential to upgrade how global factories automate manufacturing. It features:
- Proprietary actuators
- A bespoke AI stack
- Patented effectors
- Custom motors
Here's how Perceptyne (@perceptyne) is building the PR-OMNI semi-humanoid in Hyderabad.
🚨 Ahmedabad-based OmSpace Rocket & Exploration (@Omspace_in) has successfully tested a landing-leg mechanism for Infinity One, their reusable launch vehicle.
The system is designed to support the rocket during landing, marking a key step toward recovery and reuse.
🚨 Pune-based Astrophel Aerospace (@AstrophelHQ) has tested their indigenous actuator at full load, handling up to 5 kN.
It is designed to steer their reusable launch vehicle. The company also plans to sell these actuators to defence and aerospace customers in India and abroad.
This is India's most advanced wheeled quadruped.
The Dhav-Hy quadruped by xTerra Robotics (@xTerraRobotics) navigates obstacles like stairs, ramps and uneven terrain with ease using robust locomotion policies.
And it doesn't even use vision. There are no cameras on this robot. You can kick it, stand on it or push it around and it's able to stay upright without falling.
Once xTerra incorporates their vision stack, Dhav will become even more capable.
Dhav-Hy, which weighs 23 kilograms, can:
- Climb steps up to 35 cm
- Traverse slopes of 45 degrees
- Use 80 Nm of peak joint torque
- Move at a top speed of 5 m/s (18 km/h)
- Carry a 10+ kg payload across all terrains
xTerra Robotics invited RuntimeBRT to visit their facility in Bengaluru to put Dhav and Dhav-Hy to the test. Here's what happened.
🚨 Delhi-based Stingray Robotix (@stingrayrobotix) has successfully tested their underwater hull-cleaning robot.
It can magnetically crawl along ship hulls, uses cavitation jets to remove biofouling and can go as deep as 200 metres.
🚨 Jammu-based URC Robotics has unveiled X40, their autonomous floor-cleaning robot for commercial facilities.
It uses LiDAR SLAM and ROS 2 for navigation, with a 550 mm cleaning width, 40 L fresh-water tank and 6-8 hours of runtime.
Most of the world's axial flux motors come from China.
Chennai-based Torus Motion (@Torus_Motion) wants to change that. After five years in R&D, their patented axial flux motors outperform global alternatives in cost and capability.
Here's how they're building them in India.
Kozhikode-based Altersage (@Altersage_Inno) has developed a tree-climbing robot called Cocobot, the world’s first commercially viable coconut harvesting robot.
Cocobot's patented design adapts to multiple vertical plantation crops such as arecanut, peach palm and jucara palm.
🚨 Bengaluru-based Scrub Robotics (@ScrubRobotics) has successfully built and tested their autonomous water-cleaning robot, SCRUB V2.
It can collect floating waste from lakes and has a 25 kg waste capacity, 500 m range and a 5-hour runtime.

Strider Robotics (@strider_robots) has built a tank of a quadruped.
Their M3 can:
- Lift an adult human
- Tow a car with passengers
- Right itself after being flipped
- Climb stairs with a 40 kg payload
We visited Strider at ARTgarage (ARTPARK, IISc) to see M3 for ourselves.
🚨 Indore-based Pragyanik AI (@PragyanikAI) has built Avighna X1 Lite, an autonomous farm robot prototype, which is being tested for weeding, spraying and seeding.
Their full-scale X1 is planned as a 12 HP modular platform with a 500–600 kg payload and 8-10 hour runtime.
🚨 Bengaluru-based NeuralMiles (@NeuralMiles) made a full-scale excavator remotely operable with an Xbox controller within 7 days, then completed a digging-and-dumping cycle.
Their goal is to make excavators teleoperation-ready in under an hour, with full autonomy later.
A Bengaluru startup is manufacturing a chemical the global chip industry can't run without.
@scimplify_ supplies it to semiconductor giants in Japan, South Korea and USA. It's just one molecule in their specialty chemicals + advanced materials portfolio.
Here's how they do it.
🚨 Chennai-based Agnikul Cosmos (@AgnikulCosmos) has completed a new firing test of their Agnite semi-cryogenic booster engine, including thrust sweeps and an extended-duration burn.
This 1 metre engine is 3D-printed as a single piece and uses electric motor-driven pumps.
🚨 Chennai-based Jedlik Motors (@JedlikMoto) has developed a prototype of their e-POD, a fully enclosed electric two-wheeler for urban commuting.
The vehicle is expected to have a 120 km/h top speed, 200 km range, and a crab-walk steering, with launch targeted for June 2027.
🚨 Noida-based IG Defence (@IGDefence) has successfully test-fired two solid rocket motors for their JWALA micro-missile programme.
These motors will power JWALA, a counter-drone missile designed to engage UAVs 2-5 km away.
🚨 Ahmedabad-based SatLeo Labs (@satleolabs) has developed TAPAS-1, India’s first dedicated commercial CubeSat thermal payload.
It uses thermal sensing to detect heat patterns invisible to regular cameras to monitor urban heat, farms, disasters and infrastructure from space.
The list of well-established Indian car manufacturers is very short:
- Tata
- Mahindra
- Force
Now though, in 2026, India is witnessing the beginnings of a fresh wave of innovation in its automotive sector.
One of the OGs of this new era is Shahid Haq with his Hyperion1 roadster. Developing a car from scratch in 2026 is impressive. Developing one before 2016 was groundbreaking. Shahid first unveiled the Hyperion1 at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2016. He and his team at Motormind have been deep in R&D ever since.
Shahid has said that the Hyperion1 will be launched by the end of 2026. RuntimeBRT visited Motormind's Bengaluru facility to speak with Shahid and catch a glimpse of the sports car he has spent a decade building.
