New work at Trampoline Poetry - "Poet at Home, Shares Reflection". Thanks to Barnali Ray Shukla (amazing filmmaker, poet) for creating the photo that inspired the poem, and to Ed. Justin Lacour for believing in the piece. @barnalirays@TrampolinePoet1trampolinepoetry.com/
Lovely to come home to my contributor copy of @rowanglassworks Fall 2026 issue 🍂
Honoured to see 'Queerness of Our Species' in print. Such a beautifully produced magazine.
Thank you to EIC Katie Budris for including me alongside such stellar creatives from the US and abroad.

Just discovered that Leonid Andreyev was really into autochrome photography, (thanks to pionnierisme)— and now everything makes sense. Brilliant human, he was.
Today would have been Maureen Seaton’s 79th birthday. It still stings that there won’t be any new Maureen poems.
In her honor, here’s “The Lakeshore Limited” from THE SEA AMONG THE CUPBOARDS.

ALT I TAYLOR
SILENT POEMS
'... still those still & slow silences..."
3-
A meditative and colorful retirement, when these easy motions grow like
weeds in the rain and
the word 'no' figures
in your actions, reversing the flow of flowing to a collection of pools, a storage.
To follow the transitions of technique, losing the threads to the cloth, having rags then, and
voices cawing in your ears and
lettuce wilting on your plate.
Wind in your hair
moving your eyes up and down blinking at the sand and passing from one day into the next night
ALT Spreading and turning in widened squares of sense, these poems float like buttressed acres of cotton and dust, fragile and woolen momentoes of light columns floating like temples of green & ivory movement to and from crowds of gathering and leaving when awareness gathers and leaves these faces pasted onto paper with caution and let blow in winds as random as the tools they are built from.
He passes in the halls, friends from the maske they were fashioned after.
The physical energy. Deflected from one direction
to another,
goes astray, does not pass, goes nowhere, plants steamy
roots in the soil and watches the
withered sun draw the soil's moisture up from the depths of the earth, passing into the air like
columns of steam.
ALT They are still crowded into rooms, making the food go round, piecing the sunlight out of fish heads; there are no plants in this space,
dead gestures, caught in the air.
Making notes as he passes the machinery, he slides
through space with
shadowy substances trailing along behind.
There is no starch.
The halls flood and the stairs run backward, from out to in or down to down.
She is still in one room, with her materials gathered into boxes.
What have I to offer my children
in the moonlight?
Petals or leaves or machinery or tales gathered in the twilight, parched & coincidental
Poetry proves again and again that any single overall theory of anything doesn't work. Poetry is always the cat concert under the window of the room in which the official version of reality is being written.
