Tenure Track Assistant Professor @Aarhusuni (Denmark). Pancreatic cancer metabolism, iron and nucleotide metabolism. All opinions are my own

Excited to share our latest story @NatureComms. Here, we used quantitative proteomics, metabolomics and in vitro/in vivo CRISPR screens to define mechanisms of resistance to DHODHi in PDAC and propose combinatorial approaches with BCL-XL inhibitors: nature.com/articles/s41467-0…

AI is cool and all... but a new paper in @ScienceMagazine kind of figured out the origin of life? The paper reports the discovery of a simple 45-nucleotide RNA molecule that can perfectly copy itself.

Finally, we validated this combination in several in vivo models of PDAC and in human PDAC organoids. We propose combinatorial targeting of DHODH and BCL-XL as a therapeutic strategy with potential therapeutic translatability in PDAC.

This project started during my time as a postdoc in the Mancias lab and it would not have been possible without @ManciasLab and Huan’s incredible efforts to bring this to completion. Thanks also to our collaborators and to postdoc Marina Ciscar in my lab.

My two NIH cancer research grants were terminated today. One involving breast cancer prevention is an “outstanding investigator award” and had received a perfect score by reviewers. How does ending lifesaving cancer research make Americans healthier? @harvardmed @aacr

Hi #metabolism #pancreaticcancer #lipidtime twitter! Excited to share @PatrickJonker4 work on how the microenvironment limits the metabolic capacity of pancreatic cancers (PDAC), which sensitizes these tumors to dietary interventions. 1/17

Thrilled to share our new study on CAFs and NK cells, now online 🌟 in CD!! NK cells are ideal candidates for cancer killing since they don't need antigen specificity. But they are usually not active in tumors. We wondered whether this could be due to inhibition by CAFs 🧵👇
Now online in @CD_AACR: Cancer-Associated Fibroblasts Serve as Decoys to Suppress NK Cell Anti-Cancer Cytotoxicity in Breast Cancer - by @AviadBenShmuel, @YaelGruper, @CoralHalperin, @shouval and colleagues doi.org/10.1158/2159-8290.CD… @WeizmannScience
