Haley Stevens was right to speak up, and anyone willing to overlook this lacks Democratic values. This is a fight not just to save the soul of the party, but to save the future of our country.
This is who tf @AbdulElSayed is closing his campaign with in Michigan to appeal to Black and Jewish voters who aren’t sure of him. It’s a slap in the face to Black voters and should be offensive to Abdul. But Abdul is antisemitic just like Tucker Carlson so he’ll overlook his Islamophobia.

Haley Stevens asked El-Sayed to condemn a blatantly antisemitic campaign ad. El-Sayed’s response was to inform the Jewish congresswoman that she’s no longer welcome at his campaign events.
Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed's campaign has asked his former primary opponent, Rep. Haley Stevens, to skip all campaign events in the race's closing days, said a person familiar with the matter. cnn.it/4f1w1E4

It would be more reassuring if national Democrats could say: "Everybody in Democratic leadership will combine to curb the ugliest instincts of a Senator el-Sayed. We'll vote funds to protect Jewish institutions from the antisemitic violence that el-Sayed made excuses for. We'll assign him to healthcare committees and keep him far, far away from Homeland Security. We desperately need this seat to hold the Trump administration accountable, but we're not going to lie to you and pretend the guy is anything other than what he is. That would be disrespectful and dishonest. Trump is the main issue here. You have our promise that this nomination is a one-time aberration - and that the rest of us will continue to uphold Jewish safety at home and the US-Israel alliance overseas." Instead it's all unconvincing and insulting gaslighting - and not-so-subtle signals that if el-Sayed wins, many more Democrats will adopt his style of politics.

Respectfully, Abdul has done nothing to earn the support of Jewish voters and is struggling to make ends meet with other voters who likely preferred Haley Stevens in the primary. The meltdown Abdul is having now over Stevens’ rightful condemnation of antisemitism shows why he’s unfit to be a US Senator.
Let’s be clear about something. El-Sayed chose to bring Hasan Piker into the Democratic primary for a critical swing-state senate race. He chose to tie himself to and elevate one of the most noxious, bigoted, divisive figures he possibly could. He campaigned with him five times. He spent election night of the primary at an “influencer” pool party with the guy. He set the tone for this entire campaign. Since then, El-Sayed has been given ample opportunity to disavow Piker, to address the concerns of Jewish Dems, and to bring the party together. He’s rejected almost every single one. More often, he’s dug in and doubled down — as he’s doing now. Christ, the man can’t even condemn an “it’s Jews making your groceries expensive” ad. There’s one person and person alone who’s responsible for dividing Democrats and injecting groyper-style noxiousness into Michigan Democratic politics. His name is Abdul El-Sayed.

All democrats must follow her lead and push antizionism (and its libels of genocide and settler violence) out of the party.
Nancy Pelosi rips fellow Democrats Zohran Mamdani and Abdul El-Sayed over their views on Israel, calling their comments "wrong" and insisting they don't reflect the party in Congress. The former House speaker went further than podcast host Donny Deutsch, who called the progressive Democrats' Israel stances "concerning." Pelosi cut him off: "No, it's more than concerning. It's wrong. It's wrong." Full story here foxnews.com/media/nancy-pelo…

Former IDF Chief of Staff and Likud Defense Minister and Vice PM Moshe Ya’alon endorses the Muslim Party Ra’am for governing coalition. He says they endorse a draft for all Jews and national service for all Arabs; and its leaders are statesmen and the far right’s are terrorists.

I'm one of the 63% of Jewish-Americans opposed to the current Israeli government. The ad is still antisemitic. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Replying to @jonlovett
63% of Jewish-Americans are opposed to the current Israeli government and 61% believe Israel has committed war crimes. So, saying an ad criticizing Israel’s war crimes is somehow against Jews sounds like a dual loyalty trope. It is empirically incorrect and helps spread antisemitism. Very disappointing.
