Great work by Chairman @BrendanCarrFCC to protect Americans from surveillance by foreign adversaries like China.
The FCC recently determined that a manufacturer of two types of devicesâa dashboard camera and a wireless video transmitterâincluded chips within the devices that are produced by a subsidiary of Huawei.
Those types of chips are advertised as designed for the surveillance market.
FCC rules prohibit the import or sale of any device containing certain components produced by entities on the FCCâs Covered List, including Huawei and its subsidiaries.
The FCC has therefore blocked those device models from being used, marketed, or sold in the U.S., and the agency will continue to vigorously promote our countryâs national security.
