"Ernest Hemingway couldn't have made up the real life of John Spencer. Facing Bullets, Bombs, and Bees (yes, bees, he was actually attacked by killer bees), Spencer writes about his adventures with humility, relatability, and humor. this book will leave you hungry for the next time he almost dies." -- Max Brooks, New York Times bestselling author of World War Z, Devolution, and the official Minecraft novels. amazon.com/Twenty-Times-Almo…

"On the modern battlefield the network goes dark, the CP gets found, and the drone feeds overload the staff. What's left is intent. Push strike authority down with clear intent and high-payoff target criteria. Then trust the lieutenant to pull the trigger." - Amen
Leaders for robots, or leaders who think? An Indiana Guard colonel built a leader course because, in his words, he was tired of seeing "leadership training for robots instead of critical thinkers." Five days of deliberate ambiguity. Team leaders to battalion commanders. No script. His line: "There's no portion of a five-paragraph operations order more important than commander's intent." He's right. And it has to scale past a volunteer course. On the modern battlefield the network goes dark, the CP gets found, and the drone feeds overload the staff. What's left is intent. Push strike authority down with clear intent and high-payoff target criteria. Then trust the lieutenant to pull the trigger. That's why the most important part of Project Agincourt isn't the kit. It's the training of the force. Putting operators straight into the hands of commercial builders forces TTPs to change faster than an adversary's tech can catch up. New kit every rotation means new tactics every rotation. That takes leaders who think, not leaders who wait for the script. Make every CTC rotation messy. Jam the comms. Kill the CP. Learn when the unit freezes and is overrun with Autonomous Drones. LEARN FROM IT. Mission command isn't a slide. It's a rep. Who's running the reps? @DOWAgincourt #USArmy army.mil/article/296016/the_…

"I helped secure the access he [ICC prosecutor] sought in Israel. Israel agreed. The next day, he announced his application for warrants."
I knew former ICC prosecutor Karim Khan from his work investigating ISIS crimes against the Yazidis. On May 19, 2024, I helped secure the access he sought in Israel. Israel agreed. The next day, he announced his application for warrants. Here’s the story. From my conversation with @IgnatiusPost on BRINK at @AtlanticCouncil.

So important. the IHRA definition of antisemitism should be adopted by all.
🔴 You can’t fight what you can’t identify, and you can’t identify what you don’t define. The IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism enables individuals to identify all strains of this pernicious hatred. Distorting it hampers our ability and responsibility to fight it. @NatanSharansky, whose contribution of the “3D’s” was instrumental to the creation of the @TheIHRA , describes the long democratic process through which it was created, the importance of its 11 examples - including demonization, delegitimization, and double standards - and why it is so important today. dictionaryofterms.org/terms/…

BREAKING: Anduril and the Australian Government have confirmed that Ghost Shark, an extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle (XL-AUV), can deploy drone swarms, sea mines, air-launched effects, and underwater logistics payloads. Ghost Sharks are being manufactured in New South Wales, Australia, with payload testing underway. Australia’s Minister for Defence Industry, Pat Conroy, stated: "Ghost Shark is a flagship Australian success story that showcases the ingenuity of our defence industry and the value of investing in sovereign capability. Our Government opened this factory less than a year ago and Ghost Sharks capable of a range of complex missions operating far from our shores are now rolling off the line at an increasing rate into the hands of the Australian Navy."

United States is now India’s largest LPG supplier. Great news.
Honored to join @SecRubio at @RIL_Updates Jamnagar facilities. Over the past year, India’s imports of U.S. LPG have surged from under 10% to 67%, making the United States India’s largest LPG supplier. Reliance’s planned investment in the first new U.S. oil refinery in 50 years is another major opportunity to expand American energy production and create jobs.

"Mini-Manual for the Urban Defender." Almost 5 years ago I wrote this manual for Ukrainians defending their cities against Russian invasion. 26/11, never forget.
At the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, I laid a wreath honoring the victims of the horrific November 26, 2008 terrorist attacks, including six American citizens. We remember those lost, honor the courage of those who responded, and reaffirm the enduring U.S.-India partnership and our shared commitment to combating terrorism.

🇫🇷🇷🇺 French intelligence agencies have confirmed that Russia-linked bot networks are weaponizing the past weekend's violent riots by flooding social media with old, recycled, and AI-generated fake videos of police brutality to provoke the rioters even further. Russian networks like "Matryoshka" are acting as digital opportunistic arsonists, intentionally exaggerating the scale of the chaos to simulate nationwide civil unrest.

@SpencerGuard is one of the few commentators on this weekend who has studied urban violence professionally, and his account of the sequence is the part I would keep. A protest that begins over prices or housing is captured within days by organizations that were waiting for a vehicle, because they can offer participants something the grievance itself cannot, which is belonging. His remedy begins with law and order. The reporting from Paris suggests the French state will also have to rebuild the capacity to apply it, since its own officers described declining engagements they did not expect to win. @brainstates
We are past warnings. Cities are burning. More will follow. This will come to the United States IMO. This is an attack on western societies and values. Yes, there are many root causes. Uncontrolled migration without assimilation. International funding of protest for violent purposes. Issues of affordability. Education. Housing shortages. Employment opportunities, etc. They started with issues but then are quickly hijacked by ultra-left radicals, islamist, the red-green alliance, opportunists, and those brainwashed by victimhood. Why? Lack of values, purpose, and identity. With eroded traditional sources of identity and purpose (family, nation, vocation, faith), huge groups fill the void by claiming victim status or becoming advocates for other designated supposed victims. Responsibility is externalized: the system - capitalism, democracy, natives, “the West,” or some oppressor always explains their personal or collective shortfalls. This produces victimhood culture, beliefs of shared grievance, and alliances with radicals who offer belonging through struggle rather than responsibility, competence, or reform. The leftists/Marxist, the Islamists, and those thirsting for purpose don’t want reforms. They want to destroy society. They want identity through victimhood and destruction. They take no responsibility for their own status, there is always an oppressor to blame, always someone else’s fight. So they burn what they won’t fix. Step one is law and order. Reinforce the police. Enforce the law. Arrest, track, and if applicable deport every single person who commits violence or crimes. These won’t be the last protests or cities to burn if "let's address their grievances," suicidal empathy, victimhood culture, political cowardliness continues.
