After almost 22 years, I will be parting company with the BBC. It’s been a tough decision, but it’s clearly time to move on…

One of the things I’ll miss is having access to the BBC’s vast digital library. I’ve loved including its archive in my edits. It’s a reminder of the BBC’s incredible history, which I’m grateful to have been a small part of. May I never lose interest in old idents.

It’s been a privilege to work for the BBC. I still value it, the important role it plays and hope those who remain can respond to the DG’s call for a pioneering spirit to keep it fit and relevant. Tchakka-chaow for now.

Gutted. I worked closely with George on the latest version of the Newsnight theme. He was a lovely man and leaves behind a wealth of wonderful and iconic music.
The composer George Fenton has died at the age of 76. His music included Blue Planet, Planet Earth and multiple movies - Baftas + Emmys and received five Oscar nominations. He composed BBC TV news theme tunes including the memorable Newsnight music.

Fantastic #DoctorWho β€˜The Savages’ doc from @TobyHadoke and @StuartDenman Felt like the first in-depth analysis of the latter part of S3 we’ve had, with some brand new interviews and the most wonderful story of two married actors ❀️ 90mins flew by. Well worth the price alone.

About 10 years ago I directed a shoot of Blondie performing at BBC Maida Vale. I had cameras everywhere, of course, including one pointed at drummer Clem Burke while I manned another over his shoulder. I then spent two weeks editing it all into an hour long programme...

All I can say is I was in awe of Clem's drumming while I was shooting it but my mind was completely blown the longer I spent editing his footage. Utterly mesmerising. RIP.

Another brilliant journalist and colleague leaving the BBC - a forensic storyteller with great attention to detail. It was a pleasure working with you, Kate. Best of luck.
Today is my last day at the BBC. To be totally open, I’m being made redundant Whether running More Or Less during the pandemic, reporting on Grenfell & the climate, I’m extraordinarily proud of my work Public service broadcasting can be engaging & essential & I hope to continue
