We've been exploring how clinical trial participants can control a powered wheelchair — with their minds. Here's how we’re doing it 🧵

The amount of Twitter branding underneath all of the dark clothes and makeup of X kinda makes it feel like Twitter is going through a Goth phase. "I'm not going by "Twitter" anymore, Dad. Fahh! It’s X now!” "Okay sure Hon. Whatever you say. Travis, be sure to have Twitter home by 10. Have fun you two!"

I think Sainthood in the Catholic Church requires the person to perform 2 miracles. By that measure, everyone at @Neuralink is already a Saint. Making the blind see? That’s on their list and soon it will be on their resumes! Literal miracle workers.

An error ratio on the HUD would be informative. I see a lot of "label-up" errors from the robot. Given the amount of data being gathered, it could be an impressive improvement stat to share; how much better is it after 1 post-trial iteration? I expect the robot will outpace the human by a lot with a very low error rate after a few trainings and iterations.

Audrey and I were the first set of twins. I hear there's gonna be one more set before the month is over! That's pretty awesome. Seems like they’re on the way to making two at a time the norm. I like having a twin to do this with.

Giving the crippled agency and helping the mute speak? Yeah, I’m calling those miracles.

Our robot is designed to insert hundreds of ultra-fine, flexible threads with thousands of electrodes within microns of targeted neurons while avoiding vasculature and adapting to real-time brain motion.

Smort! Drilling through air will be way cheaper than drilling through earth. That’s just good business sense right there!

We are working to restore mobility that was lost due to disease or spinal cord injury by allowing participants to control robotic arms with their thoughts. See how this is possible.
