Measuring food is a pain in the ass, but also necessary if you want to lose weight. I've been logging every gram of food for over a year. It can be a royal pain in the ass, but today's apps make you feel like a junior-level data-entry nerd at the office. So I wanted to fix my problem, and in the process, I accidentally made a meal-tracking app. I basically took what I was doing in AI, my food-logging app, the stuff with my nutritionist, and packaged it up. Because nothing was doing what I wanted. I just wanted to plan a day against my targets. From my pantry and other items. Adjust my plan as needed, making sure I stay aligned. Then, when I log the actuals. Rebalance the rest of the day, so I end up on target. I don't want to fuss with shit; just tell me how much chicken and rice I can eat. It's almost ready to hit TestFlight and make its way to the App Store. If you're into health and tracking food, I'd love to hear from you. Maybe I can help, maybe not. But I am looking at the problem differently than everyone else.

Keeping the plan separate from what actually got eaten seems key here. If lunch changes, updating the log should leave the original plan visible. That makes it much easier to see what changed without rebuilding the whole day.

Yup it’s there and I show where you diverge. When lunch changes from the place you can then rebalance the rest of the meals so you still end up on target.
