WHO REALLY WINS
DOCTOR STRANGE VS. SUPERMAN
One is the Man of Steel, a hero whose strength and speed put him among the most powerful beings in the DC Universe. The other is the Sorcerer Supreme, a master of magic who can manipulate dimensions, reality, and time.
Superman can overpower almost anyone physically, but what happens when his opponent doesn’t need to fight him physically?
SUPERMAN
Superman’s greatest weapons are his incredible strength, speed, durability, flight, heat vision, and combat experience.
He can move faster than most opponents can react, survive devastating attacks, and deliver enough force to challenge beings with godlike power.
His speed is particularly important in this matchup. If he attacks before Strange can cast a spell, he could end the fight very quickly.
However, Superman has a known vulnerability to magic. It doesn’t automatically defeat him, but magical attacks can affect him in ways ordinary physical attacks often cannot.
DOCTOR STRANGE
Doctor Strange doesn’t need to match Superman’s strength to defeat him.
His mastery of magic gives him access to dimensional manipulation, magical restraints, energy projection, illusions, astral abilities, and powerful defensive spells.
He can potentially trap Superman, redirect his attacks, or use magic to attack him directly.
Strange’s greatest advantage is versatility. He has several ways to approach the fight, and Superman cannot simply punch his way out of every magical threat.
SO, WHO WINS?
Superman has the speed and physical power to overwhelm Strange before he gets a chance to use his strongest spells.
But if Strange has enough time to prepare or successfully gets his magic into play, Superman is in serious trouble.
My verdict: DOCTOR STRANGE WINS, narrowly.
His magical abilities give him a way around Superman’s greatest strengths. However, this is not a guaranteed victory. In a sudden encounter where Superman attacks immediately, the outcome could easily go the other way.
