LBB Area Pacing vs RV Pacing for AV Block and Preserved Left Ventricular Function: The #LEAP-Block Trial 📍499 patients with #LVEF ≥50% randomized to LBBAP vs #RVP across 14 Chinese hospitals. 📍 Primary endpoint: 2.4% vs 12.5% favoring #LBBAP (P=0.003). 📍 HF events: 3.4% vs 11.3% with LBBAP vs RVP. 📍 LBBAP ⬇️ the 24-month primary endpoint risk (HR 0.37, 95% CI 0.19–0.73), with no significant differences in mortality or device complications. #LEAPBlock #Cardiology #HeartFailure #Pacing jamanetwork.com/journals/jam… @JAMACardio #JAMA

Credit to the EP team in Bern for this excellent remapping study after either RF or PFA. Mandated remapping is much better than remapping for symptoms jacc.org/doi/10.1016/j.jacep… A) PFA no better than RF for durable PVI B) Recapitulates GAP study showing that AF still occurs in one-third of durably isolated PVs and 72% of those with reconnected veins DID NOT have AF at one year This is the crux of our problem in EP: we don't understand the pathophysiology of the condition. PVs get isolated because we can. @TobiasReichlin

🫀 What if we could treat valvular heart disease BEFORE intervention is needed? Our new study in @eBioMedicine (IF 11.2) explores genetic targets for disease-modifying therapies. 🧬💊 🚨 88% of potentially druggable targets have no linked compounds! 🔗 lnkd.in/epjGH_UE

Could we prevent aortic stenosis from becoming severe? Our new study maps human genetic evidence to potential drug targets in valvular disease, including Lp(a) and IL-6 pathways in AS. Congratulations, @_Sara_Ferreira and @rui_providencia ! authors.elsevier.com/sd/arti…

@DHZB_Akademie "3D Advanced Echocardiography Workshop" (happening January 22- 24, 2027) makes it clear why this is way "more than just 3D." The program bridges advanced imaging with intensive clinical realities”specifically targeting ICU management, complex valvular heart disease, mechanical circulatory support (MCS), and heart failure. Perfect for clinicians who want practical utility, not just pretty 3D pictures. Yes, it’s a 3D workshop but we are taking it straight to the ICU At the #echofirst Workshop , we aren't just looking at static valves. We’re tackling the tough cases: Echo in ICU: Deep dives into ECMO hemodynamics and using echo to guide acute fluid management.  Critical Decision Making: Using acute heart failure echo to trigger therapy (from diuretics to MCS).  Live Knobology: Real-time mastering of GE & Philips systems. Register & view the full program: backend.dhzb-akademie.de/app… Just take a look at this GOAT line up 🔝 @alex1708ander @alexsfelixecho @dr_benoy_n_shah @iceman_ex @echo_batman @FGraziani_Grace @VictoriaDe32503 @Ph_Bertrand @StellEkaterina @echo_stepbystep @fiore_corrado @LunaGargani @ArgaizR @papadocardio @eromerodorta @mauripieroni72 @KemalogluOz @JanKnierim @echotainment @DonalErwan @FH_Verbrugge

Maybe do a stress echo to see if his Pulm pressures increase with exercise or if his ms gradients increase as well . Seems his symptoms are out of proportion to his mild MS (symptoms might also be from his obesity, so treating that might reduce his dyspnea on exertion- agree w/ U

Young active male who can only run 7 minutes before limiting dyspnea on Bruce protocol treadmill, mild MS,for me this is a problem,a valve area between 1.5 and 2 cmsq can’t be made much better! Patient has high BMI ,will give Mounjaro for 6 months then re decide!Patient approves.

A new study in the European Heart Journal – Imaging Methods and Practice evaluated whether measuring diastolic flow reversal in the distal abdominal aorta could improve the echocardiographic assessment of aortic regurgitation. Abdominal aortic holodiastolic flow reversal is an established marker of significant aortic regurgitation, but guidelines do not clearly define the optimal measurement location. The study evaluated 103 patients with moderate or severe chronic aortic regurgitation. Key findings: ✅ Distal flow-reversal assessment was feasible in 94% of patients ✅ Proximal assessment was feasible in only 54% ✅ Diagnostic yield was higher with distal measurements: 82% vs 50% ✅ In paired analyses, distal assessment showed 92% sensitivity, 86% specificity, and 88% accuracy for severe aortic regurgitation ✅ Reproducibility between and within observers was excellent ✅ In a small exploratory subgroup, distal echocardiographic findings showed 92% agreement with cardiac MRI 🔗 Read the full study: doi.org/10.1093/ehjimp/qyag1… @EHJIMPEiC @VikashJaiswalMD @JGrapsa #AorticRegurgitation #AorticValveDisease #Echocardiography #CardiacImaging #CardiacMRI #ValvularHeartDisease #HeartValveDisease #Cardiology #ImagingInnovation #MedicalResearch #StructuralHeartDisease #CardioX #CardioEd

Peripartum, alcohol-related, chemotherapy-related and myocarditis-associated cardiomyopathy are usually labelled acquired. In published cohorts, 7.5% to 22% of adults with these diagnoses carry a variant in a cardiomyopathy gene. 🧵 @BroderickHeart at @LibinInstitute
