There are no better vehicles for storytelling than collectibles.
Cllct founder @darrenrovell shows off his Berkshire Hathaway collectibles: a sheet of uncut, uncirculated $1 bills signed by Buffett, Buffett's 1947 high school yearbook, and passes to every Berkshire investor meeting since 1997

The $1.3 million paid for the LeBron “Chosen One” jersey in 2024 will go down as one of the all-time greatest collectible investments.
Kobe's game-worn high school jersey sold for $2.2 million 🤯 His No. 33 jersey is now the most expensive high school jersey ever sold at auction. The same jersey previously sold in 2013 for just $51,400. (via @Sothebys)

Psyched to add a LeBron NBA Debut ticket to my collection. On the rare occasions my collecting interests overlaps with what I consider a severely undervalued item, that’s my cue to go for it. A cool tidbit: I bought it from someone who went to the game & kept it until now!

Who is building repacks but for money? Each pack would have a dollar amount inside (or none at all) with the “chase” being a grand prize. It could even have a lever that spins and determines which pack you get based on the arrangement of various symbols. Render attached:

Considering the volume of game-worn NBA jerseys hitting the market these days, NFL game-worn jerseys might be the most undervalued category in the market right now. So too are college football and basketball, for the same reason: fewer jerseys worn for longer stretches.

Ken confirms the supposed $50 million Mantle sale did not yet occur
Replying to @paulrubillo
That is false news. an aggressive rumor that is not true I can state that with 100% fact. A 1952 mantle has NOT sold for $50 million

The $50 million number said to have been paid for the PSA 10 ‘52 Mantle is not shocking — after all, that has basically been the estimate for that card for a number of years. But it is a good reminder that when the market surges, and it feels like vintage is lagging behind modern/TCG, the top-tier remains undefeated. A PSA 10 sold for $275k 25 years ago.

I kinda love when people take cut autos and print something over them… Found this Jake Gyllenhaal-signed cut of Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” lyrics in my collection I forgot I had.

This is what happens when even a top-tier item is flipped too many times in a short time period. Also: Given the financial interest all Wagner holders have in keeping this streak alive, I don't think we will ever see a public auction comp be allowed to fall below last sale.
Every time a T206 Wagner has ever sold at auction, it sold for more than its last sale. The streak (barely) survived this weekend, selling for just $2,500 more than the previous sale. Same card: Nov '21: $1,102,806 Sept '23: $1,968,000 Apr '25: $1,980,000 Oct '26: $1,982,500
