According to a report, Gears of War: E-Day cost over $500 million to develop, excluding marketing, and has sold more than 400,000 copies across Xbox and Steam, according to a source cited by The Verge.
Microsoft may have a huge problem with the cost of AAA games. Alinea Analytics estimated around 1.7 million Game Pass players during the launch period, but Microsoft hasn't confirmed the figures.
If this is true, layoffs at The Coalition could be coming soon.
