I think as light skin people we have to continually acknowledge when it is at play & denounce it. So many light skin people are simply okay with being favored even if that comes with disrespect of dark skin folks in their presence. While I can’t uproot the system, I can absolutely push against. I can absolutely use my privilege as leverage for my dark skin brothers & sisters. It’s starts at the micro level with dating and the way we participate in harmful rhetoric that reinforces that system. Like white folks, a lot of light skin act like they are some how helpless victims for benefiting from colorism. So much so that they will claim reverse colorism LMAOOO.
I can admit I benefit from pretty privilege, and lightskin privilege. But what exactly do you want me to do about it cause I’m not stopping. Yall are all complaints and 0 solution
