Day 20/60 π
Assessment day! π§ π
Put my networking knowledge to test.
Still learning, still improving, and getting more confident with the fundamentals.

Day 19/60 π
Today, I learned how ping and traceroute help test network connectivity and troubleshoot connection issues. π
What stood out to me was how they help trace connection problems.
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 18/60 π
Today, I learned how routers move data between networks and how HTTP and DNS help devices communicate with applications. π
What stood out to me was seeing how these different parts work together whenever I access something online.

Day 17/60 π
After learning how IP addresses work yesterday, today I went deeper into how devices actually use them. π
The takeaway for me: "IP gets you to the network, the gateway gets you beyond it, and ARP helps find the right device."
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 16/60 π
Today, I learned how IPv4 addresses identify devices and how subnetting divides networks into smaller segments. π
An IP address tells you more than just where a device is, the subnet mask helps show which network it belongs to.

Day 15/60 π
Today, I learned how devices communicate within a local network using Ethernet and MAC addresses. π
What clicked for me was how switches use MAC addresses to figure out where data needs to go instead of sending it everywhere.
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 14/60 π
Today, I learned what happens behind the scenes when I type a website name into my browser. π
DNS translates domain names into IP addresses, helping devices find the right destination.
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 13/60 π
Today, I explored networking concepts like IP addresses, ports, routing, and the OSI model. π
One thing that clicked for me was the difference between TCP and UDP. TCP focuses on reliable delivery, while UDP prioritizes speed.
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 12/60 π
Today, I explored how devices actually communicate over a network, from breaking data into smaller pieces to addressing, processing, and delivering it to its destination. π
Slowly connecting the pieces together. π

π DAY 2: ONE LOCK ISN'T ENOUGH
Multi Factor Authentication proves it's really you: something you know (password), something you are (face, fingerprint). Even if your password leaks, attackers still can't get in.

Day 11/60 π
Ever wondered how your phone stays connected when thereβs no cable in sight? π±π
Today, I explored how wireless and mobile networks work, including how devices connect and communicate.
Slowly connecting the pieces together. π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 10/60 π
Today, I learned how different network devices work together to keep communication flowing.
From my phone connecting to Wi-Fi to accessing a website, each component has a role in getting that request where it needs to go. π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber y
Day 9/60 π
Today, I learned:
β’ The difference between bandwidth and throughput
β’ How devices connect with each other
β’ How network performance can be measured π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 8/60 π
Today, I learnt about networking.
3 things I learned:
β’ What IP addresses are and how they identify devices.
β’ How WHOIS can be used to find information about a domain.
β’ How data is transferred between devices across a network.

Day 7/60 π
Test day! π
Put what Iβve learned so far in the CyberForge challenge to the test and got to see which areas I need to improve on.
One week down, still forging. π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 6/60 π
Today, I explored different types of computers and how they relate to cybersecurity.
Because every design is a trade-off, understanding how a system is built can help you identify its possible threat vectors. π»π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 5/60 π
Today, I learned what happens inside a computer system, from its components to the boot process.
Understanding how a computer works is also important when learning how digital evidence can be found and analyzed. π»π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 4/60 π
Today, I learned about common cyber attacks, methods of infiltration, vulnerabilities, and exploits.
I also explored how attacks happen and how they can be prevented.
Learning to recognize attacks, not just memorize them. π
@the_cyberforge#DoraLearnsCyber
Day 3/60 π
Today, I learned about the CIA Triad, AAA, and Zero Trust principles.
I also explored how these principles can be applied to improve the security of the OAU student portal.
Learning the principles, not just the tools. π
