Anthropic's updated IPO filing shows spending commitments surge to nearly $900 billion while Q3 rev surged to nearly $17 billion.
$70 billion of that $900b is due over the next 12 months.
This comes after the FT reported that Anthropic may not receive an investment grade rating on its debt.

🚨 The public should know why countries are suddenly reinforcing the need to stockpile food for 3 days:
AI cyberattacks.
But the real reason is this: AI labs cannot guarantee the safety of the products they offer.
Instead of pressuring them to improve safety, governments are asking people to stockpile.
It's like asking people to board planes with lifejackets on and no luggage because there is no effective safety system and, therefore, a meaningful chance the plane will fall.
That's what's happening in AI, and people should know.

Exactly. We have companies that have unleashed malware and viruses world wide, whose CEOs should be arrested and prosecuted, who have somehow been able to change this crime into a marketing gimmick instead.
Things are moving so fast that everyone seems to have completely missed how insane it is that AI companies have been allowed to unleash agentic AI products with no regulatory guidelines.

Two new papers show that wealth taxes lead to very little out-migration by the wealthy, while increasing tax revenue.
Most think wealth taxes always make the wealthy flee , an exodus -- but there is no existing empirical evidence for such an exodus, anywhere, at any time 1/n
The Norwegian example is illustrative. In the last few years, our wealth tax received massive media attention, described by media outlets as leading to an "exodus" of the wealthy.
But only ~1.7% of the ultra-wealthy actually left. Tax revenue boomed

The Norwegian wealth tax "exodus", discussed in global media, never happened. At most 100 individuals left. Tax revenue increased by +71.5%. No changes in business activity.
Norway's controversial 2021–2024 reforms nearly doubled the tax on business wealth. Firms of affected owners did not invest less, and outmigration was limited to the very top, from @Mariusring nber.org/papers/w35854
