Codex is now refusing to even do cursory cybersecurity audits of my project and gives me a link to sign up for "Daybreak." Boo this man, BOOOOOO.

I was not expecting things to go this way, but I think MCPs are better than CLIs for most integrations. The models have gotten much better at tool calling, we can defer tools & MCP is now stateless. If you need to compose/filter data, add params like query to your MCP tools.

Claude Code starting doing this thing recently, where it will take a big report it wrote and just open it in a browser as a private artifact. At first I felt violated, cause why is my agent opening a browser without me asking? But as it's happened a few more times, they're usually things I would want to read in a slightly nicer styling, and it's been tweaked now so it'll ask before doing it, so I gotta give them a big W on this new behavior.

What a fun historical anecdote. Thankfully we don't have to worry about something like this happening in this day and age since we learned our lesson and there is no comparable contemporary analog.
