We are fixing everything that is wrong with hackathons in SF, it’s going to be the most amazing one (till we host the next one ;) Pair with experts in this space and verify things that you use and love.
We just sent out the last batch of invites for Vibecheck (fmxai.org/vibecheck). We're now at capacity (for the building, for two floors). The event is going to slap and I'm really, really excited about it! - HUGE thanks to our sponsors, including @datadoghq , @theoremlabs , @omni, @workersio , @SafeWithAtlas, @astriolabs, For-All R&D (@qd_forall), and @thegp. This would be totally impossible without you! - I'm also really stoked about several companies that are providing compute and platform tokens for competitors, including: @anthropicai, @PrimeIntellect, party.build, @lanyon_ai , @wearerandomlabs . - And finally, we have some amazing experts who've helped plan the event and/or will be in attendance helping to run the event and judge entries, including folks from several of the above-mentioned companies, and from several academic labs, as well as from @mathematics_inc , @axiommathai , and @HarmonicMath . I'll be sending rejection emails for anyone who didn't make it in shortly, and will close down the application form. If any currently RSVPd people cancel, we will send some last-minute invites accordingly. If you wanted to participate in this event but didn't make it in, please note two things: first, this does not reflect poorly on you -- we specifically aimed to accept people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just a bunch of our friends or of FM experts. And second, we are going to run more of these events! We are loosely planning to run a London event, colocated with FMxAI London in 2027 (and co-organized with @galois, see fmxai.org for more ..); a NYC event, at some TBD date; potentially also an online/remote one; and a defense-oriented event co-organized with @mathematics_inc. If you're interested in one of these let me know. This event is absolutely a labor of love, and we hope you'll follow along. We'll be posting updates, repos, podcast episodes, video interviews, and more throughout, and it's going to be a lot of fun. Also, if you didn't make it in but want to experiment in your free time, we will be posting all the rules and judging criteria in the coming weeks on fmxai.org/vibecheck, and we encourage you to play around and post your work! And for those of you who got in, see you in SF!!

Docmost recently crossed 5 million pulls on Docker Hub, a sign of how widely it's been adopted. I couldn't be prouder of what we've accomplished in such a short time. @DocmostHQ now supports Fortune 500 companies, major US defense tech firms, deployments in DoD infrastructure, and government agencies across Europe and Australia. In an era where software vendors train AI on their customers' data, protecting enterprise knowledge and trade secrets has never been more important. We're here for the long term, committed to supporting both our open-source community and the enterprises that trust us to deliver a collaborative wiki software they can fully self-host, even in air-gapped environments. Excited for what the future holds.

ALT 5 million docker pulls animation.

@solofounders last batch avg. age is ~27 yrs old & diff shows when I meet recent YC peeps. if you are 30+, made real money and willing to throw that away to chase building it says far more imo. *don't get it twisted - still cracked af youngins in SFP @DhravyaShah
Surprisingly so many founders in YC and my batch gave up after like 6 months and settled for a cushy job at some big lab or late stage company I'm surprised by the lack of grit That's why I'm a little more bullish on international founders, they have something to prove

Hello my friends at America.gov the agent experience is very good. there's one thing missing. I think the AI would love some memory. we're always happy to help you self host an instance of @supermemory and add frontier memory and learning to it :)

It was this moment when @sama said Formal Verification is underinvested and potentially holds solution to AI safety. We are still super early and a lot of tooling that will help us get to correct-by-construction software systems is yet to be built. At @workersio we are building the software verification infrastructure, a layered defense approach to solve some of the hardest challenges in this space. I do believe that formal verification alone is not going to get us there (at-least not with what we have atm), but it’s a very powerful tool to think and verify system design problems. We have saved 100s of hours of engineering time using formal methods.

“Accidentally” seems an understatement for discovering the dependency was the bug. Chai is an exceptional founder. Formal software verification is going from “academic” to “obviously necessary” very quickly.
Our product accidentally found a bug in Postgres! I always hold my company to the highest standards when it comes to software verification. One of the internal metrics we track is how often we find rare correctness issues in some of the world's most well-tested systems. Some of the customers we work with are building things where any unexpected failure could be catastrophic. That often means we verify all the upstream dependencies their products rely on in our environments, too. Sometimes, that turns up interesting findings like this one: while verifying a customer’s software, our simulation engine found a rare bug in Postgres.

No crying in the casino
A frustrated MSTR holder just confronted Michael Saylor. He put $219,000 into the stock for his kids' future and watched it crash by over 70% to $60,000. He asked what answers management had for him. This was their full response.

Retention is all you need
Facebook VP of Growth Alex Schultz: “Retention is the single-most important thing for growth” Alex walks through how to calculate a retention curve for your startup (graph the percentage of monthly active users on the y-axis versus the number of days from acquisition on the x-axis). As he explains: “If you end up with a retention curve that asymptotes to a line parallel to the x-axis, you have a viable business, and you have product/market fit for some subset of market.” If you do not have a retention curve that flattens out, you do not have product/market fit and none of the growth hacking or virality tactics that people love to talk about will work. “Focus on getting to product market/fit… If you don’t have a great product, there’s not point executing well on growing it, because it won’t grow. The #1 problem I’ve seen inside Facebook for new products and the #1 problem I’ve seen for the startups I’ve advised has been that they don’t actually have product/market fit when they think they do.” Source: @ycombinator (Oct 2014)
