I actually think long term social trading for perps and prediction markets will be much more interesting than memecoins
The FOMO holders list is genuinely the last thing that makes me want to buy a coin
When I see some mfer up +2,228% on a $2M position on some 100mc coin I just delete history and move on the next thing
Some of these coins have to rinse most of these holders before redemption

The thing about gacha platforms is that the inventory is based off the team's interest and selection.
This man @andy8052 loves vintage, so @mnstr has an insane collection of vintage pokemon.
What's even crazier is that a month ago if you pulled on the $1.25k pack, almost every card has went up in value.
Because vintage has mostly went up 3-4x in value.
Your losses would have been BEs, your wins would have tripled.

I genuinely don't get what coinbase is trying to do these days. for a while they had an inspiring vision of expanding economic freedom. but over the past 2 years it's just been flat attempts at being funny combined with perplexing launches that make no sense (gacha)

The bet with gacha is that its a design pattern that will proliferate across all consumer goods categories, and the company that runs this playbook beyond TCGs will be a 10bn+ outcome as the next big ecommerce winner since Shopify
