My favorite kind of competitions are about to start up. The "just bring your skills" kind.
It's the ones where, as a competitor, you have the fewest reasons to blame for poor performance.
Quake, UT, FGC.
Arenas $10,000 Cash Cups inbound! First $1,000 "Winner Stays" 1v1 Power Rankings competitions taking place in Brazil.

This is a big change for Ranked. This addresses a number of frequent community issues, most notably are those that screenshot "Unreal in my Bronze, Silver, Gold lobby."
This comes with a tradeoff. Longer queue times. So you'll see an increase in screenshots of players that experience longer queue times. This is in an effort to take the extra time needed to find you quality matches in your rank tier.
What this means long-term (likely coming sooner rather than later) is that we have to go through and consolidate playlists that have always had too few players in the queue in Ranked.

Chests to crack. Crews to beat. Sprites to catch. Treasure to claim.

Here's a look at our Native Water Template with actual biome mask support to bring to life water variations on Aloha. This system is completely separated from epics default water system and supports rivers, lakes, etc.
Notice how the rainforest has darker green water!
You can find a link to download the system in the comments.

This is all quite funny. They linked to a paywalled Bloomberg article nobody would read and then made up a bunch of wild quote in the thread and reported them as fact.

Hyper Vyper demo is live in Steam Next Fest this week! Here's the gameplay trailer for the big update that dropped just in time for the Fest - the map and look has been totally rebuilt. Getting close to the vision for the game, it'd mean the world to an indie dev if you played.

Arenas update today. A few callouts:
First time we're really introducing Ranked Leaderboards in-world. We've had some similar-ish things in years past. Expect to see ideas like this show up elsewhere.
In overtime, the cube storm dynamically moves to a new closure point.
Optimizations. We made some gains in optimization and are mitigating others by lowering player counts. We identified a number of others (even impacting BR/Reload) that were discovered during our Arenas deep dive. Team is working on those for future updates, potential gains across the ecosystem.
Points-based matchmaking will be enabled in upcoming tournaments. This is a huge one, previously limiting more tournament formats.
Also, shout out to the players testing Fight Nights! You know who you are!!

Once we pilot EAC v2 on Fortnite, we plan to enable all EAC customers to opt in to the new module and bring their awesome games to Linux.
And yep, would love to support Steam Deck, we're talking with Valve about how.
Epic Games is in talks with Valve in hopes of bringing EAC v2 to the Steam Deck
Fortnite is coming to Linux, with more EAC games possible later, but the Steam Deck won't be supported right away since it's missing security features that Epic's new Linux anti-cheat needs
