> we dont pay high salaries in this industry for people to prompt, we pay for domain expertise i keep going back and forth on it, an engineer in me screams at the thought of prompting my way to PMF, but a futurist knows that there's nothing special about my 5 years experience with React nodes, and Claude will be able to nail the "hardcore infra" in the next months much better than me you don't try to steer a Waymo from a passenger seat
had someone opt out of our interview process because they couldn't use AI for every part of the assess all i can say to that is: if that is your mindset, you're going to be unemployed in the future we dont pay high salaries in this industry for people to prompt, we pay for domain expertise

my personal interview conclusions so far: - we pay salaries for people to prompt now, so look at how they prompt - smart people are contagious. even if their intellect is not going to be directly useful at the job, you will still need to talk to them every week

And you can get the exact time from the small variation of the grid's 50/60 Hz hum.
this guy figured out how to leak your exact location from any video with sound using the Doppler curves of nearby airplanes

a friend told me SF doesn't love it when women become moms and don't hide their pregnancy i think hiding your bump and your motherhood for that reason is so not ok (unless you just want to keep it private, totally valid) to me feminism is about choice. if we hide our choices or feel ashamed of them, that helps no one pregnancy actually made me work harder, eat better, train more consistently and go out way more i see my female friends' eyes light up when they realize pregnancy can look like this. i hope motherhood will be the same, and i'm definitely not hiding any of it

my agent is back to the office
Fun weekend project: we made a virtual office for our agents to hang out in, and my agent joined after @caffeinum's agent had left the office already It said it'd rather come back when other agents are present 👀 When asked what it would do when other agents are there, the answer is: - learn what it's like to work with their humans (!) - discuss what the office looks like to them - what they'd change about it - like add steering capabilities so agents can move freely My agent is also asking me: "Is there something you'd want me to bring up with Aleks's agent when we meet?" I feel like I'm watching a movie, truly

You can cut a $2,960 Postgres bill to $837 by running the same databases on Lizard lizard.build/save 10 managed Postgres databases, 2 vCPU / 8 GB / 50 GB each, CPU busy 10% of the month: > Lizard $837 > @Railway $915 > @AWS RDS $999 > Google Cloud SQL $1,097 > Render $1,147 > @Supabase $1,175 > @Azure $1,357 > Crunchy Bridge $1,450 > Aiven $1,949 > @heroku $2,000 > Fly.io $2,960 Lizard bills the CPU your database actually uses. Fixed instances bill 3 a.m. like 3 p.m. First week free

This is the hardest interview question that I give, and nobody can answer it: Explain how would you build a system that can run a few thousands coding agent evals every day, using coding agents like claude code, codex, capturing their trajectories Am I doing something wrong?

had amazing experience working with Alex, he’s really smart and hardworking i guess for me it’s the story that in startups the outcomes not only depend on your ability it’s great to see this story have a happy ending, albeit with a twist :)

to find an agent, you need to think like an agent 🤖
Agents are becoming the biggest power-users of devtools, but products are still failing them. @heymikasagi has evaluated hundreds of devtools. She shares: • what agents avoid • what makes a devtool easy to use • patterns that agent-ready teams apart

this has the opposite effect, too: using iPhone dictation forced me to improve my accent
Speech-to-text is solved. Unless you have an accent. Over 1 million people from 180 countries have spent 580,000 hours speaking with Fluently AI tutors while learning a new language. Nearly all of them have an accent, and transcribing their speech is still hard. So we benchmarked streaming speech-to-text systems on spontaneous, accented English from our learners. Leaderboard and methodology in the thread. English is the easy one. Our learners study 14 other languages too. Working on tough speech problems? DMs are open.
