node v24 was released today. it adds support for explicit resource management. the node:sqlite module already supports it:
import { DatabaseSync } from 'node:sqlite';
using db = new DatabaseSync('database.db');
no need to manually close the database

new project idea. JS to VTL transpiler if writing VTL has you feeling 😰 (like me)
- use acorn to get a JS AST. only a subset of JS needs to be supported
- convert the JS AST to a VTL AST. could go from JS AST to VTL code, but IRs are fun
- generate VTL code from VTL AST
