A return to reasonableness and due process under Brazilian law is the right thing to do
Opposition To Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre De Moraes Is Growing, Reports The New York Times Of Brazil
"Members of Congress" and the Lula government "who usually support Moraes' actions now admit repairs and recognize, behind the scenes, the need for adjustments," reports The Folha de São Paulo.
This is massive. The Folha de São Paulo is the newspaper of Brazil's elites and is very similar in many ways to the New York Times.
The Folha reports that its reporters interviewed "politicians and judges" across the three branches of government.
"This perception has accumulated in recent months and has become more widespread after recent cases in Parliament and criticism of Moraes' decisions involving the blocking of pages on platform X (formerly Twitter). This last case involved businessman Elon Musk and members of the US Congress."
De Moraes is losing support in his seat of power.
"Even within the Supreme Court, which usually supports his decisions by a large majority, there are ministers who express reservations about Moraes' actions, in private conversations."
Massive news!
