Slavery was abolished 3 years before Victoria came to the throne wasn't it? Slavery has existed for millenia, it certainly did not start in the UK
Very disappointing from King Charles. It's well known slavery originated in the UK, it was the brainchild of Queen Victoria. People in the UK were therefore hoping he was going to make a full apology & announce a Reparations package. I can only conclude he still supports slavery.

We don't elect a PM parliament does. A general election is not a vote on a PM. Until it is the rules will stay.
This is a great point by Mike Tapp.
If Andy Burnham becomes Labour leader and then Prime Minister without a general election, millions of British voters won't have voted for him, or even know who he is.
That's not how democracy should work.
A change of Prime Minister through an internal party coup should automatically trigger a General Election.
