Thanks for managing my codex for me, Claude

I don't know why the codex remote control ability is so bad. Claude is just way smoother in this regard

rewatched this video and it reminded me just how horribly overengineered a lot of systems were before AI Even with the risk of "AI slop", it's still harder to get away with this level of BS now piped.video/watch?v=y8OnoxKoโ€ฆ

crazy how quickly you can replace a product now. like, i could sign up for one of those "unsubscribe me from emails" products, or i could send a single prompt to claude and have it find literally 528 subscriptions in my inbox

I wanted to consume Ben's thoughts in a more structured way, so I made a site with the transcription and summaries where you can play any snippets of audio you want to get his actual words goertzel-thoughts-sep152026.โ€ฆ

switching your OS is so much easier now! I'm setting up Omarchy and i've mounted my old NixOS drive and pointed claude at it. it presented me with a detailed migration plan so i can easily keep whatever i want and ditch the rest.

in 2026 this video goes so hard - no vibe coding - no cursor tab completion - no dot auto-complete - no syntax highlighting - using Visual C++ 6 because he hasn't changed his setup since Y2K piped.video/watch?v=nQrzB5P5โ€ฆ

Clawd/OpenClaw is basically what i've been building for myself/the family the last few months except it also has app-building functionality baked in so you can really easily host personal apps that themselves have specialized embedded AI with context on that domain

I feel really nostalgic for the late 90's/early 2000's - I was in high school and we had LAN parties playing half-life, unreal tournament, counter strike, battlefield 1942, doom 3. CPUs and Graphics cards were doubling in speed every year and it was possible to be "good" at gaming since you only had to be better than a dozen of your friends (rather than some global online leaderboard). There was mountain dew and pizza anyway, I get the sense that I'm going to look back at the AI progress of 202X and feel the same way. We are living in a golden age and should appreciate it as much as we can while it lasts

Palmer luckey literally has the haircut of Captain planet
Palmer Luckey is the modern day Mcafee but sickerโ€ฆ - forum rat turned prodigy - builds Oculus in a garage off pure obsession - sells to Meta for $2b - gets cancelled for trolling politics and doesnโ€™t flinch - buys a newport mansion with a dock for his warship - buys the one across the street and turns it into a garage for American muscle cars - starts Anduril defense company from the trenches - beats Lockheed, raytheon, & boeing with a team of meme lords - still wears Hawaiian shirts and flip flops to pentagon meetings never bent the knee. never lost the spark

wow. i'm impressed that this renders at all with this many layers: 1. opencode 2. executed from a fish shell 3. within ansiterm 4. inside emacs (terminal version) 5. inside a tmux pane 6. over ssh

can't use sudo in your claude session running over ssh? solution: 1. use ssh -Y <hostname> to forward X window GUI 2. install an SSH_ASKPASS command (i use x11_ssh_askpass) 3. tell claude to use sudo -A this will pop up a GUI window on your machine to prompt for a password

Just discovered gptel for emacs - looks like it integrates any LLM with emacs, and you can include tool calls to have it execute commands in your current session/repl. I don't even think cursor can do this? This is going to be incredible

A failure-mode of my clojure codebase is making too many "purpose-built" functions that deal with specific domain data or operations that i have. The more I write functions that operate on generic data and move my domain-specific logic to the top-level the better. All the functions get more reusable and less buggy with more leverage.
