Can your idea become the talk of the town? We modelled how thoughts and ideas spread in human societies by putting 2,721 simulated personas representing the US general population in an artificial city. Each persona has its own schedule, beliefs, and social circle. Sow an idea in any persona’s mind, watch it take hold and go viral, or see it fizzle out if no one takes interest in it. Compete with your friends and colleagues to see whose idea can win over the most adopters, get a high score and put your name on the leaderboard. Link below.

Where do you go next after reporting from the Strait of Hormuz? For the past three months, Citrini Research, an independent research firm, has been working with our team and an internal research model to see if they could use AI to create a new drug. What follows is an entertaining, candid, and humbling account of a group of motivated nonexperts (or “filthy casuals”, as Citrini would say) trying to tackle a real problem in human health with Claude. We landed on scorpion neurotoxins, which kill over 3,000 people a year. Of the 211 designs we produced and tested, 17 met our criteria for a binder. None of the designs bound more than one toxin and none have been tested for neutralizing a toxin. One of my favorite quotes from the piece is: “Our virtual biologist may have compressed a year's worth of work into a couple days, but biology works at the speed of life…Over two days, we watched Claude work through problems at a speed that was difficult to comprehend. For the next two months, we spent much of the time becoming familiar with laboratory turnaround times (This mostly involved sending memes in Slack).”
What is AI really capable of in bio? To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom. Introducing Citrini Therapeutics. citriniresearch.com/p/citrin…

Naive to think stuffing huge models into tighter hardware by way of compression and quantization won’t cause decode quality loss. This sorta benchmark on a long run is one of the few ways to show it imho. 2 spark is noticeably less detailed. My guess is code is worse too.
DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash-1017 on 4 DGX Sparks vs 2 DGX Sparks, same voxel-world prompt: the 2-Spark run finished in 59.7 minutes. Both recipes are by @MiaAI_lab. 4 Sparks runs her TP4 recipe on SGLang. 2 Sparks runs her recipe on @ashxhart's TensorFold. Not just a box count: 4 Sparks: official checkpoint, sampling from the model card. 2 Sparks: EXL3 2.9 bpw quant, sampling from Mia's recipe. The answer limit was raised to 262,144 tokens on both. 4 Sparks, world Lumenfall: Agent time: 90.8 min Tokens written: 196,854 Browser check: 9/10 Decode (speed test): 51 tok/s 2 Sparks, world Aetherfall: Agent time: 59.7 min Tokens written: 131,268 Browser check: 8/10 Decode (speed test): 67 tok/s Context tested on both: 128K. Open: only the 4-Spark run reached the 90 minute mark and got the automatic finish-now note. Open: 4-Spark decode on the code prompt swung between two runs (36 and 65 tok/s), cause not found. The 2-Spark world is almost as good. Really good. Play both worlds in your browser: 4 Sparks: niklaslenz.com/v2/deepseek-v… 2 Sparks: niklaslenz.com/v2/deepseek-v…

Data on 35,000+ adults: the more cannabis you’ve used in life, the bigger your hippocampus and the better your brain works after 40! People who had ever used cannabis tended to have larger brain volume in key areas that are full of natural cannabis-like receptors (especially the hippocampus, amygdala, caudate, and putamen – these areas are important for memory, emotions, learning, and movement). The more cannabis someone had used in their lifetime, the larger these brain areas were and the better they performed on tests of learning, processing speed, and short-term memory. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/4137…

if this bounce happens, we're still gonna be technically in a down trend. we'd need to see my yellow line break and hold before we could consider it more than a bounce... but i think it will be a strong bounce
