The Founder-Parent Paradox: You're building a business to provide a better future for your family, but the act of building it takes you away from your family in the present. The ultimate balancing act.

I've become so desensitized to GitHub outages past year 🫠
BREAKING: GitHub is currently down.
Community note
GitHub was not down overall. Official status reported degraded performance only for Actions, Pages and Webhooks while core services stayed operational. githubstatus.com githubstatus.com/incidents/8tzb… downdetector.com/status/github/

I've been using Treg for SEO for some time now and it quietly became part of my routine. Their new AEO toolkit adds the piece I was missing: which sources AI actually cites, and the people who wrote them. Can't wait to try this! Ranking on Google is only half the game nowadays. If ChatGPT keeps recommending your competitor, that list is where you start looking 👀
Introducing OpenSource AEO Toolkit - Find every source AI cites, and the author behind it - Get your product into the sources AI trusts - 1¢ per prompt, no subscription - Access 4000+ data & services Try it at treg.to/aeo Partner with @cloroai Repo link below 👇

Ran the 1.6-bit DeepSeek V4.1 Flash on one DGX Spark over the weekend. It fits (110 of 128 GB) and shrugs off prompt injection: 193 of 200 attacks resisted. But Qwen3.8 Flash Next FP4-Local still wins every row I measured, on 13 GB less memory. Still my pick for a local agent.

Yes, we make fun of Eurosummer. Europe is too humble and sure, it has its problems. The EU is certainly over-regulating often instead of advancing entrepreneurship. But it has a rich legacy and culture, one of the few places on earth with true free speech and a real democracy, and there are so so many talented people here who want to make the world a better place for everyone, wherever they live. And last but not least all the foundational innovations that came from our little continent 👇
US: Tesla Roadster. EU: tethered bottle caps. I made that joke too. But let me be serious for a moment. Made in Europe. Europe built it. Others told the story. The Web was born at CERN. Linux in Helsinki. Python in Amsterdam. ARM, the chip in your phone and your Mac, in Cambridge. DeepMind in London. The first commercial microprocessor was designed by an Italian, Federico Faggin. Every leading-edge chip on Earth is printed with ASML machines from the Netherlands. Mistral trains frontier open models in Paris. Hugging Face: French founders, although it is headquartered in New York. llama.cpp, the engine of local AI, started in Bulgaria. The first mRNA vaccine came from Mainz. Europe doesn’t lack innovation. It lacks a megaphone. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Innovation without narrative becomes someone else’s success. This isn’t Europe vs. anyone. I love innovation wherever it happens. I just want Europeans to feel proud and optimistic about the future again. Did I miss something relevant here?

“These models are grown more than they're built. So the only way to know what they do is to look inside.” Anthropic did. The model picked rabbit as the rhyme before it wrote the line. It didn't even have to say it out loud.
"To make them is not to understand them." Emmanuel Ameisen (@mlpowered) has spent the last 3 years doing interpretability research at @AnthropicAI, looking inside LLMs like Claude to figure out what they're actually doing. As he puts it, models are "grown," not built. We discuss: 🔸 His discovery that models plan many tokens ahead 🔸 Why anthropomorphizing AI can actually be the right approach 🔸 What the "J-space" reveals about how models think 🔸 How interpretability connects to AI alignment and safety Listen now 👇 piped.video/JHo-aiePjoM

His advice for people like me: there's denial and there's curiosity. Then the line that stung a bit: I'll never be better than Claude at SQL again.

I use these models every day. I still can't tell you what's going on inside them. The people building them are only starting to find out 👀

Most big companies are still planning in quarters while Opus 5.5 ships in hours. That gap won't stay there for long 👀
Oh boy, many such cases across every dev team.
