Malik Washington cited the Battle of Jericho for his Bible Verse: "When you speak life into things and speak positivity into things, positive things tend to happen, and your life looks better because of what you're surrounding yourself with and how your mind thinks about things."

Asked Aazaar Abdul-Rahim about his message to fans. He said he understands what Maryland fans have dealt with, but "I encourage all fans to continue to support us, support these young men ... we appreciate all the fans. We appreciate the fans that came this week."

Malik Washington currently leads the Big Ten with 7 interceptions after his first-half one against Illinois. The Terps need him to play better to win this one, as Washington completed just two passes in the second quarter.

DeJuan Williams rumbles into the endzone from 17 yards out for his fourth touchdown this season. Heck of a response from Maryland to open the second half.
Williams up to 52 yards on the ground.

Maryland is tied 7-7 with Illinois at halftime.
After a strong first quarter, Maryland recorded 2 yards in the second quarter. The Terps started their last drive with 27 seconds left, but Aazaar Abdul-Rahim elected to simply run out the clock instead of going for a score.

Malik Washington rolls out and throws a very bad interception to Tanner Heckel. Was an off-balance throw and Heckel had Chris Durr Jr. blanketed. Just a case of Washington trying to do too much.
Two turnovers have kept Illinois in this game. Terps lead just 7-0.

Malik Washington rushes for 35 yards on the drive, capping it with an 8-yard rushing touchdown. Encouraging to see the QB using his legs.
Maryland looks like the clearly better team thus far. It leads 7-0 early over Illinois.

Also noteworthy: Terps are still yet to score a touchdown on their opening drive this season. They have just one field goal to go with an abundance of punts.
Wow. Messiah Delhomme sets Maryland up in the redzone with an interception. DeJuan Williams then rushes and fumbles from Illinois' 1-yard line as he tries to stretch the ball into the endzone. The Fighting Illini recover.

A look at Maryland’s student section at kickoff.
Students must scan the video board for the free tuition raffle at halftime, so it’ll be interesting to monitor how many more fill in before then, especially with this being a noon start.

The free tuition raffle isn’t the only offering today at Maryland’s game. Students can also win a PS5 from Terrapin Row — if they have the best Halloween costume.
Shirt below will also be given to the first 3,000 students. Will be interesting to see fan turnout today.
