COO at GitHub. CMO of Developer at Microsoft.

We still want to find a way to bring the community together. If you planned to be in California for the Grace Hopper Celebration, I invite you to join us this year for GitHub Universe, Oct 28-29. 🌉 We've set aside 75 complimentary passes for folks with cancelled registrations. While this doesn't replace the conference and Universe has far fewer attendees than GHC, my hope is that it does give folks an opportunity to connect with each other. 📷 DM the GitHub team on LinkedIn or email me at kdaigle+ghc@github.com (first come first serve).

I've built a bunch of agents, skills and apps in the last year but only two have made a material family difference. 1. Texting the school lunch menu each night 2. Texting reminders for nightly meds and being rewarded with a custom generated meme Best tokens spent yet.

They really cooked. 🔥 The Surface Laptop Ultra is so good. Been using it for months, giving feedback, and it’s wild strong. Beautifully built. And I can play video games at night in my hotel. On a device I’m using local models during the day.

If you’ve been struggling with a multitude of sandboxes for agents, MxC is a sandbox solution that works across Windows, Linux, and macOS. A real platform opportunity for developers across the ecosystem. Process, session, micro VM, and deep integration into agent ID on Windows.

The busiest single repo on GitHub saw roughly a billion requests in ONE MONTH. Today, we shared how we’re rebuilding GitHub’s storage layer (without changing how you use GitHub) decoupling compute & storage so reads and writes scale independently. Quicker pushes, pulls, and a platform that stays fast as more agents and developers code. We’re designing against some of the largest workloads on the platform so there’s headroom for everyone. More below on how this works and excited to show you more at @GitHub Universe. 👇
Git activity more than doubled between September 2025 and August 2026, reaching 473.3B events per month. We’re rebuilding our Git infrastructure while GitHub keeps running, creating a foundation for agent-scale software development.

Building Git infrastructure for agent-scale development

By Brian Celenza Every day on GitHub, millions of developers build the products their customers rely on, contribute to open source, and pursue personal projects. GitHub’s architecture has changed

If you haven't tried HydraFusion yet, go try it in the GitHub Copilot app. We'll use one model, many models, or critique model sets to give similar performance to Fable/Astra at much lower AI credit cost. The technical experimentation continues here.
👋 Project HydraFusion is now available in the GitHub Copilot app and @code. Choose it like any other model. Behind the scenes it routes your task across multiple models to draft, critique, revise, or escalate, then hands you one result. github.blog/changelog/2026-0…

Big fan of muse myself. My guy is named Milo. It’s helped me negotiate with insurance, pay bills, and organize life while supporting an ailing parent. 🙏 Now bringing code, issues, PRs will unlock the whole other side of my life with GitHub.
muse loves code! he actually all of his coding interviews before we hired him as mascot @github 🤝 @Muse excited to see what y’all do with this one!

Editing diffs in split and single view, starting in the GitHub Copilot app. A few quirks the team is working through but sometimes token efficiency is using no tokens. ✨
Coming soon to the GitHub Copilot desktop app: editable diffs!! ✏️ Agent got you most of the way there? Make those last tweaks directly in the diff, right where you’re reviewing the changes. Co-authored with @lichinlin!

The best projects are using more automated reviews, validation/smoke testing, auto-rollbacks than ever before to keep up with the pace. PRs are growing incredibly quickly, we see Copilot Code Review being used a TON more even if you use different agents to create the PR.
Fresh data from GitHub: Agent-generated PRs have exploded in size. 9x the last 8 months (!!) No signs of slowing down. This is why everyone is rethinking code reviews, deploys, possibly even o11y thanks @kdaigle + team for the stat! (Slide from my talk yesterday)

Same or better quality, much lower cost, no manual model orchestration. That's what we're delivering Project HydraFusion from GitHub. Early tests have been very positive and we're improving hourly. Give it a try and let us know what you think. 👇 github.blog/ai-and-ml/github…

The model launches will continue until morale improves. 🌈 Unrelated, the X axis on all graphs must be right aligned to $0. Up and to the right. I don’t make the rules.

Pouring one out for the bespoke agent skills currently being archived. You were well crafted and served did your duty.🫡 Now you can attach images to GitHub issues and pull requests with `gh`.
Sometimes it's easier to show than tell. We're sure this update will help with that. 👀 GitHub CLI now has a repeatable --attach flag that uploads a local image or video. Reference it inline in an issue, pull request, or comment body. Available now to all users on GitHub across all plans. 🎉 github.blog/changelog/2026-0…

This is slick. Expect nothing less from @yonasbe.
Today we shipped sling, an agent-first CLI for your GitHub Actions 💫 Right now, if you ask your agent why a CI job failed, it goes and pulls the entire set of GHA logs and eats up your context window. 🪵 > sling why @starslingdev computes the run's logs and metadata, along with the evidence lines it matched to tell you why a run failed If you want to know what your GHA usage is, you have to go to the GH UI and click around to find it. 💸 > sling bill tells you how many minutes, how much you're spending, and across which runner labels Trying to understand what your slowest job is? You'll need to hunt around the GHA UI and even then you only get an average. 📊 > sling top and sling usage tell you runner minutes and cost across all workflows and repos, with p50, p95, p99, queue wait and a week over week trend starsling.dev/cli

I've spent hours sometimes weeks improving my own @openclaw. I was one of the Mac Mini goobers. 😅 Then my brother Baxter (not a dev) asked me about it. Gets at a much bigger shift @steipete and team are leading with plenty hobbyists and makers making their first commit on OpenClaw. Fastest-growing repo in GitHub history and a very timely reminder of the power of open source and community. Congrats to @steipete @BradGroux @joshavant @jlehman_ @somalley108 @BunsDev @vincent_koc for keeping this engine running.🦞
