A couple weeks ago I had the honor to participate in a panel discussion at COMICON about the Apple TV series Foundation inspired by Isaac Asimov! Thanks @fleetscience for inviting me! It was a blast!! 💥🛸 @sbpdiscovery
We had an incredible time at our 4th DALLAS (Douglas Annual Lipid Aging & Stress) symposium.
Thank you to our keynote speaker C. Kumsta @kumsta and special guests M. Dellinger & @DrGTWU for partaking in the Symposium, sharing your science, & making the experience fun! #science
The Kumsta Lab is now funded by the @NIA! It was a long road to get here with the first submission in Oct 2020, then July 2021, then Oct 2022 and finally Nov 2023!!!
I kept on working on it, strengthened the preliminary data, simplified the writing and got lucky in the end!
The 3rd annual Rising Stars Symposium is an amazing opportunity for grad students to share their research, network with peers and faculty mentors, and learn about open postdoc positions at Sanford Burnham Prebys. Please retweet and apply today: bit.ly/3zx0GmQ
Online now! Yang et al. show that inhibition of early-acting autophagy genes in neurons extend C. elegans lifespan, improve proteostasis, and increase #exopher formation via the autonomous WD40 domain-related function of ATG-16.2. @kumsta@thehansenlabrdcu.be/dvaFk
Save the date for the 3rd annual Rising Star Symposium at Sanford Burnham Prebys in La Jolla: May 1-3, 2023!

Help save the Dog Aging Project.
Despite being one of the most influential, productive and impactful NIH supported projects over the past 5 years, the National Institute on Aging has inexplicably chosen to withdraw support for the Dog Aging Project. For now, I’m won't get into the details of the process or my personal feelings about it, as the important thing is to ensure the Dog Aging Project doesn’t end. If you believe that the Dog Aging Project has value and should continue, I have three requests of you:
(1) Please consider signing the petition to the NIH Director here: actionnetwork.org/petitions/…
(2) Please consider sending an email to your elected representatives here: actionnetwork.org/letters/su…
(3) Please share this message with your network as broadly as you can
Thank you!!!
