Dumb take, apple is the complete exact opposite of Rolex they do high volume with few models cutting-edge parts in iphones only make sense if you make millions of them, because that is how you dilute the upfront costs

Ever heard of a company called Rolex?

iPhone duo is the most heavily produced foldable in history yet it still couldn't keep up with demand even apple didn't expect it to outsell samsung when Samsung is so much cheaper

Tesla’s flying Roadster is wild, but I’ve got to give it to the Gen Z maker in China who built his own flying skateboard. Ayu’s inspiration was the New Goblin’s board in Spider-Man 3. His first prototype used five jet engines and caught fire during ground testing, so he switched to 10 electric rotors, which he says produce over 660 lb of thrust combined. Small shifts in his weight could tilt the board. He practiced in a safety harness and used a phone-based assistant that tracked the board’s tilt and gave him spoken cues to adjust his stance. He says the project took about two months, with more than 10 days spent learning to fly it. Now he’s riding it over rivers and through a canyon near his hometown in Hubei. @elonmusk, got room for this guy on your team?
Turns out the future does have flying cars

Always wondered how small budget smartphone chipsets were, pretty cool to finally see it The 7 Gen 3 is 55mm², about 40% the size of the 8 Gen 3 If the 7 Gen 3 die is $19, the 8 Gen 3 should be around $50

Apple chips pulling off that performance at just 36W, 15W, and 9W is borderline wizardry. Especially in path tracing renders where Nvidia used to dominate. can't explain that with just node differences. And M6 isn't even on the chart, which is gonna be even more efficient

When Apple first added HW RT with the M3, I thought, "Who's gonna render Cycles or Redshift on Apple hardware? Nvidia is way better." I was dead wrong. Apple made insane progress in just two generations. Especially with unified memory, being able to handle massive scenes that even $6,000+ Nvidia cards choke on is a huge advantage. Same goes for the N1X though

Lesson 101: The ISA does not determine how efficient your SoC/laptop is. Nvidia is not good at power management huh.

RTX Spark delivers RTX 3060-level gaming perf, Told ya Honestly, even worse than expected A $2,599 laptop losing to a $1,200 one in gaming is gonna be a tough sell for gamers.
Don’t expect N1/N1X to be for gaming, it’s basically the laptop version of the DGX Spark. The compute performance is decent, but the memory bandwidth is only 273 GB/s. The RTX 5060 mobile does 384 GB/s. It’ll probably be worse for gaming than a $1600 5070 laptop. And considering the DGX Spark was $4K, it’ll probably be pretty expensive too.

Seeing how greedy memory makers are makes TSMC look like a saint. Never lost the #1 spot in 40 years and holds an almost 90% monopoly on advanced nodes, yet they still try to supply enough volume at fair prices every year.
