AI has made it easier than ever to build, but so much of that work is buried on our machines and deep in chat histories. Bringing working code onto a collaborative canvas is such a wonderfully ~Figma~ thing to do. Both incredibly timely and true to our roots.
Together at last: design and code on the canvas Code Layers are here, now in open beta Live from Config India

Many people worry that having kids will derail their career but nothing teaches you efficiency and prioritization quite like trying to crank through week’s worth of tasks during a single nap window

I’ve been researching creators for many years now and the theme of the moment is FOMO: Am I using the right tools? Am I being left behind? There is *a lot* of coverage about new models and features, but very little work being done to make sense of what’s already here. I very much believe that the work of helping the community understand these tools is just as important as building them. So, major kudos to @contralabs for pioneering this research and sharing it for free. Most people will take this type of data for granted but these glimpses of what’s actually happening across tools/companies/models allow us to see the entire board and will inform very important decisions for those who are paying attention.
AI is making creativity more valuable than ever before and.. we have 3 years of data to prove it. Introducing the Creative Intelligence 2026 report from @contralabs. Full report: c87.to/creative-intelligence…

A seemingly modern moment of abstraction in a medieval manuscript, representing silence as a yellow rectangle: publicdomainreview.org/colle… “And when he opened the 7th seal, there followed a silence in heaven about the space of half an hour” (Silos Apocalypse, BL Add MS 11695)

Which is exactly what I adore this Apple ad so freaking much, because they managed to capture that same exact feeling through a computer screen. Apple just gets it man.
Pre-computer / ai / (era of your choosing) when editorial offices still mostly used paper is one of my favourite workspace aesthetics ever. This is The New Yorkers editorial office, and we will never have something like this again, which is highly practical, but I think we also lost a lot of charm with it.

Figma Agent is now GA! At Figma, we're not looking to replace designers. We're looking to maximally empower designers. With this release, Agent is now faster, higher quality and excellent at removing tedium from your everyday work. Perhaps most importantly, we've improved the Agent's ability to find the right context. As a result, you can prompt less extensively... and you're able to work closer to the speed of thought. Still tons to improve. For example, while Design System adherence is better than before, it isn't where we want it to be yet. (More on this soon.) Please give it a spin and let us know what you think!

AI is a tool. You can use it to think for you. Or you can use it to learn and try things you wouldn't have attempted before. I tell everyone at Figma: we hired you because you can think. We expect you to think. Don't outsource your thinking to AI. Social media is not reality. Things are never as good or bad as they seem. Seeing things as they are and seeking truth are skills to develop. Curiosity must be cultivated. Pulling the level of a slop/slot machine can be weirdly exhausting and depleting. It can be hard and even anxiety inducing to step away when things are moving so fast, but time away from the computer is a must right now.

Partiful is terribly unchic
Replying to @amandamull
i understand why people use partiful but i deeply hate it. only thing it's good at is making people feel like going to your party is going to be a huge pain in the ass and emphasizing how nonessential their attendance is. text your friends and keep an RSVP list in your notes app.
