AI whisperer. Investor in @GroqInc @Etched @Spawn @DaytonaIO @OpenRouter + more. Prev: CEO @HyperWriteAI | AI @AlphaSchool Press: mattshumermedia@gmail.com

I invested in Daytona about a year ago. The vision is huge. The growth rate is just nutty. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. @ivanburazin is a generational founder. Honestly, with how fast they’re growing, the $1B val is a bargain by now.
We just raised a $60M Series B at a $1B valuation to build @daytonaio into the Agent Cloud. @FirstMarkCap led the round, with all key existing investors and angels doubling down. We're also thrilled to welcome the founders of some generational companies aboard, including @patrickc (Stripe), @tobi (Shopify), @AravSrinivas (Perplexity), @BrendanFoody (Mercor), @oliveur (Datadog), @adamdangelo (Quora) and @ericsyuan (Zoom) We're a 35-person team. But that's about to change; we're hiring across the board, and we'd love for you to join us.

spawn creator interview #4: special education teacher by day. “one more boss fight tweak” until 4am. @OneHitKillDev made little Flash games when he was younger, then spent 20+ years in education. now he’s building One Hit Kill on spawn, bringing together everything he loves about WoW Arena, Tekken, and Souls games. my favorite detail: a boss fight worked exactly as instructed. five parries, then a stun. but playing it, he could feel the tiny delay that made it unsatisfying. so he fixed it. that’s decades of playing games turning into taste he can finally put to work. on weekends, he builds with his kids. they still draw. they still invent stories. now they get to play them. creator interview #4. “just one more thing” until it’s 4am and he has to teach tomorrow.

And there’s something even better, if you know who to ask :)
Instinct seems to have completely lost mindshare in my network. Current split: @Muse for personal, @bot for work.

Crazy how quickly AI has improved at 3D. Less than a year ago, this was the best models could do. Just think about where we'll be in a year.

“can’t generate anything this nice with LLMs” bro benchmarked himself 📷 made this with opus 5.5 in spawn. just talked to savi.
New LLM benchmark, build cars with code and threejs, takes a couple passes to add all the detail, Gemini 4 Argon seems to be the best at it, Opus 5.5 and Sol 6.1 next best. Credit to the open source project Speed Dreams for tracks, can't generate anything this nice with LLMs.

The replies to this are very telling. You can see the world AI will bring, and still understand that the transition will be extremely hard for many people. But being right about the future doesn’t mean you get to ignore what people are going through right now.
This is a very scary time for a lot of people. We all need to be more compassionate.

This hacker news thread is absolutely heart-breaking. Whoever thinks “humans will find a way” ought I read it.

I've been waiting for something like this. Basically one sign in and wallet for everything an agent could need.

Spawn is a new breed of company. The way Jacob uses agents today is how every founder will be using them a year from now. One of the runs he showed me cost over $100k. Dude's a madman.
anthropic 30k a day. 1,000 people. spawn 7k a day. 8 people. are we more AI pilled than anthropic?

Opus/Sonnet with Haiku sub-agents... very likely the new alpha. Definitely going to be trying this.
Introducing Claude Haiku 5.5: the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model we’ve ever released. On average, it costs around 75% less to run than Claude Haiku 4.5.
