after announcing my new role at @AvaxTeam1 last friday, i got a ton of messages asking for integrations, opportunities, contributions and more it's so exciting because it means that yes, avalanche is very much alive and kicking, and there's a ton of builders cooking from literally any part of the world last week, for example, @Team1TH supported a very big, 100+ ppl hackathon in bangkok with our new hackathon platform it's been amazing and we collected so much feedback to improve the platform and make it a one-stop-shop for team1 hackathons starting next month and of course, AI makes everything so easy now so that execution is not time-bound by coding anymore, but by GTM, distribution and iterative feedback my role in team1 is making sure that any builder has a successful start, progress and result on avalanche, but that is a LOONG journey, so for the first step, i'm focusing on top-of-funnel: a builder can come from a meetup, a workshop, a hackathon. how to best map what they're doing, for whom, and what they need? that's what i'm trying to answer after that, the design phase will be focused on making sure there's a whole ecosystem of apps, infra partners and users ready to partner, offer and test FAST it's gonna be like an accelerator, but more of a rocket-y one 🚀

Zcash works exactly like the dollar or any other money here. If you keep it in cash for a long time it's anonymous. But if you move a specific amount through a boundary twice, or move a lot thru a boundary in quick succession then you compromise privacy. If you were to withdraw 123.45 from one bank and deposit 123.45 into another, those transactions are joinable. If you rob a bank for $1M and deposit $100k cash into ten other banks in a few days those transactions are also joinable. The difference between Zcash and other cryptos is that Zcash makes this problem evident. The boundary exists in other cryptos but it's obfuscated (but likely still visible to for example NSA/CIA). This is not a new problem, it's just the first time most people are thinking about it.
