what's the easiest way to make a stranger smile? (besides showing them cat pics)
Offering to take pictures for them.
All it takes is 10 seconds and a little bit of courage. Then boom, you've given them a memory to relive forever.
I've been doing it for over 1.5 years but i wanted to take things to a whole new level of "chalantness" during
@HackTheNorth where we (
@Expo) were one of the sponsors.
So in a span of 36 hrs, we took 462 (7.1GB) pics of hackers who were too locked in to take their own (check last pic for proof)
In parallel, we also gave out 100s of duck & sprout clips
and that's where things got interesting...
The more ducks we gave out, the more people came to the booth asking for one. It created this network effect because everyone wanted to be part of the "cult" that had one
Sure, we could have gotten the swaggiest of swags. But is that what makes a hackathon memorable? Or is it the little things that emit sparks of joy and bring people together?
You already know what my answer is but it doesn't matter, because at the hackathon we're hosting with
@Georgian_io, we're giving out both. the swaggiest of swags/prizes AND the littlest of little things!
We're partnering up with other cool people from
@AnthropicAI @GoogleStartups @clerk @SurrealDB @Eon_io_ & TAPNET to bring this to life
hope to see you there ;)

P.S. I vlogged the whole experience at HTN but idk if i should post it or not. drop a "vlog" if you'd like to see it
