Very good dancer and @Decent CEO

Mill Valley. My user guide 👉
10 years ago I was learning to walk again after being fully paralyzed by an illness called GBS. Watching this old video I feel thankful. A lot of my motivation for @Decent and for life comes from here.

Excited to introduce Onyx and announce our $8M seed round led by Dimension to build a virtual immune system! Onyx has always been a story of connection. The first connection was to my cofounder @amlakhan, a deeply curious technologist who I’ve been fortunate to call a friend for 19 years now. I've always said that working together was a cornerstone of starting Onyx, and it truly has been one of the best decisions I've ever made. Connection is also at the heart of what Onyx does. We believe AI is key to making biological complexity tractable, ultimately transforming life sciences into an engineering discipline. But that requires the right data. AI performance compounds with context, and richer biological context comes from more connected data. In biology, such context is often missing: molecular data, clinical history, and change over time are typically captured in isolated fragments. Onyx provides the substrate that connects them, pairing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics with rich clinical histories. By studying these layers together in people over time, our data platform traces how real human biology changes in response to infection, inflammation, and treatment. Seeing how these trajectories differ across people brings us closer to understanding what drives disease—and to developing precision medicines that work better for real people. Yet connecting data is only possible because of the people who have connected with our mission. Nearly a thousand members have already joined our research studies. They are more than research participants: they are difference-makers transforming how we understand some of humanity’s most complex and chronic diseases. I always say that our work is for people, but the truth is that people make our work possible. That connection comes full circle, and at Onyx, people will always come first. Finally, as we raised our oversubscribed round, we sought more than just business partners. We wanted investors we felt a true connection to—not merely sources of capital, but co-conspirators in creating meaningful change. To that end, we feel incredibly fortunate to have joined forces with @_DimensionCap, @haystackvc, @refactor, @standard_vc, @robotventures, and many more. Now back to building!
Today we're introducing Onyx, a research collective building a virtual immune system: a model of how real people respond to infection, inflammation, and treatment. We're launching with an $8M seed round led by Dimension Capital. onyx.bio/news/introducing-on…

Health insurance is broken, and @nicksoman is one of the grittiest founders out there. I can't wait to use @Decent.
Your health plan should get better year-round. Not just once a year. Today we're launching @Decent on @ycombinator. We find the best health plan for your company, then keep making it better all year.

👋 @abudker and I just got into @ycombinator with a new company. Half this batch is still on their parents' health insurance. That's fine. They age out in four years and we'll be waiting.

Honestly only from older bands, the young ones take it way too seriously
Has there ever been a recording from one of these tiny desk things that’s not utter cringeworthy dogshit?

@British_Airways I’ve spent nearly a week trying to resolve a ticket issue after explicitly requesting preservation of my Europe → North America return flight when missing the outbound leg. I was told my call would be reviewed within 72 hours, but today a representative acknowledged no one has reviewed it yet. I’ve also been promised callbacks 3 separate times that never happened. Can someone from Customer Relations or escalations please help resolve this?

Nuggets coach David Adelman on Jaden McDaniels calling the Nuggets defenders out by name “I can’t wait for his podcast.” “It’ll help his social media.” “What’s our defensive rating in this series?” 109 “How is that?” Sixth best in the playoffs “Ok. Next.”

🏴‍☠️💜@Decent is merging with @nicehealthcare. 🏴‍☠️💜 Eight years ago, @dadventureland and I started Decent to make healthcare affordable by building health plans around Direct Primary Care (DPC). We met Thompson Aderinkomi at Nice early on, and I was so compelled by his vision of nurse-led, in-home DPC that I asked to partner and then to invest. We became friends and found we'd reached similar conclusions, in different words: • Healthcare doesn't have to suck. The problem with healthcare is the price. • Love can be the heart of a healthy business. People are more important than companies. • Tech can't fix healthcare. But it can build Iron Man suits for the people who will. This merger is our next step in proving it. Nice brings a powerful model: virtual and in-home care, now in 13 states and growing. Decent brings experience with member services and care navigation, deep love for DPCs and the movement they've built, and a team that’s stayed committed through hard pivots. Our full U.S. and India teams are joining Nice, with Richard as VP of Operations and me as Chief Commercial Officer. The mission continues, and the people make it worthwhile. You can read a message from me and Thompson here (decent.com/blog/nice-decent-…), and check out the merger FAQ here (decent.com/blog/nice-decent-…). We are grateful for everyone who has walked this path with us: teammates and investors; brokers, stop loss and DPC partners; employer clients and members we serve. If you're reading this, thank you. I'm proud of what we've built, ecstatic to keep building, and confident you'll like what's next. Nice + Decent. Decent + Nice. The press release writes itself. Now we'll write the story together.
