I'm very curious what they've shown to people for their value to be this high. They must be cooking something serious.

same tech that writes code and launches satellites is now trying to cure disease. different target, same idea: ai makes stuff possible that used to be too expensive to even try.

for us ignorant ones; what papers or outcomes have they accomplished so far?

is anything of theirs in human trials yet? that's the number I'd want before $50B

it's obvious that this guy is different .. he doesn't belong to the same category as other AI labs leaders.

Demis is one of the few AI leaders who can be trusted. I would definitely give him my money!

Curious to see what diseases will solve Isomorphic Labs, and the competition with other AI labs

Please start work on nanobots that can only cure and we humans can live up to the n number of years. If it's not immortal, I think we humans should not become immortal, but still we can have a long life as 100 years or 150 years.

This one makes sense. Demis said it for applied science. To medicine. Not some dumbshit slush fund.

50 billion dollars says all you need to hear. My colon cheers for this

Even if they find all the cures the general public will not have access to these drugs. Pharmaceutical companies will never allow that

$50 billion to “solve all disease” by throwing AI at the same framework that has never cured a single disease in its history. Every result of this framework is symptom suppression sold as treatment so you keep coming back for refills. Now they want to use AI to design new refills faster. Meanwhile a guy eating raw liver and drinking raw milk reversed his autoimmune condition in four months for about $200 a month in groceries. But that does not require a Series B, a Nobel Prize, or a $50 billion valuation, so it does not count.

AI in healthcare is the world’s biggest opportunity that hardly anyone is chasing!

2.1B$ raised in May and back in talks at 50B, what changed since, a Lilly or Novartis milestone ?

If he succeeds, we should build a statue of him in London. What a legend

A $50B valuation for Isomorphic only holds if AI-designed molecules start clearing Phase 1 and Phase 2 trials, since that's where most drug candidates have historically failed. Faster discovery is the easy part; the clinic is the real benchmark.

I wish him well - he has great intentions!

Wait this could get out of hand so easily. Ideally the cures they find are cheap, so investors won’t get a return. Sure they need funding, but that raise should be structured differently for this.

Bloomberg has the Isomorphic talks at $40B or more, where's the $50B from?

A fifty billion valuation shows strong faith in AI drug discovery.

from nobel prize to $50B in three years. alphaFold was the demo, this is the monetization arc. biotech VCs just got a new benchmark and they're not thrilled

Attempting to maintain the facade of scarcity and binary options for temp over-valuations that SI will destroy in 3hrs is insane.

Huge valuation for a company still proving its model in drug development. The upside is massive, but clinical results will matter a lot more than AI benchmarks here.

$50B and the only scoreboard that matters is still drugs passing clinical trials, not benchmarks. If the AlphaFold magic turns into approvals, this is cheap. If not, it's the most expensive demo in AI.

Even turning one “there’s no treatment” into “we have an option” would be huge.
