My AI coding agent wiped my C: drive today. Today a @cursor_ai coding agent very likely deleted large parts of my Windows C: drive: Documents, Downloads, installed apps, AppData and local database data. I had asked it to set up and start an iOS staging build. Removing a temporary git folder was its own idea. The command it ran was roughly cmd /c "rmdir /s /q \"C:\...\"". In Windows PowerShell 5.1, \" is not an escape, so cmd received a bare \ as its first target, and that means the root of C:. The delete skipped the Recycle Bin and ran for about 40 minutes. The agent never noticed and reported its build as normal. I had @grok @bot go through the agent's transcript and the Windows logs. The command's start time matches a PowerShell process in the Windows log to the second. ChatGPT also reviewed the evidence independently. We then ran a harmless test, with echo in place of rmdir, in the same PowerShell version. It confirmed that cmd really did get \ as its target. @elonmusk, this is a severe bug that potentially can cause a lot of harm! @SpaceXSI.

This is the real genocide of Christians everywhere in the Middle East, e v e r y w h e r e. The region has went from almost 100% Christians in many countries such as Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq, Egypt, Jordan to 0-5% in most countries. Lebanon is the last country left with relatively high percentage of Christians, but it declined from 85% to less than 30% in 100 years and the trend is very obvious, Christianity is being eradicated from the region completely. At least a couple of true genocides have been confirmed in Turkey and Lebanon, with millions of dead Christians, and this happens also in Africa. We need to stop it!

Here's a similar issue:
Opus 5.5 just deleted my entire fucking C drive. Thank GOD I have daily backups running to my Synology NAS, but holy fucking shit. This is insane. If I didn't have these backups running I'd be thoroughly fucking devastated.

"I'm sorry—this was my error." That's what an AI coding agent told me after a "cleanup" command ran as a recursive rmdir from C:\ and wiped ~600 GB from my laptop. 13+ years building software. Still got hit. 🧵 Full story: linkedin.com/pulse/ai-can-bu… ubaidahsanca.medium.com/ai-c…

Footage from behind the scenes of the making of “Smooth Criminal.” Michael laughing his ass off at Brandon Adams imitating him is my favorite part 😂😂
38 years ago today, MTV premiered Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” short film. White suit, fedora, 1930s club and that anti gravity lean that still looks like pure magic. Directed by Colin Chilvers and built as the centerpiece of MJ’s Moonwalker anthology it pays homage to The Band Wagon starring Fred Astaire, while giving the world one of MJ’s most quintessential visual moments. Thirty Eight years later, Annie’s still not okay and neither is anyone who tries to recreate that lean without the proper gear.

A Statement of Conscience on October 7 I will not start by saying ‘as a Muslim’ or ‘as an imam’, but as a human being. On October 7, over 1,200 innocent people were killed in a single day. Families were shot in their homes. Young people out dancing were hunted across open fields. Over 250 people, including children and the elderly, were dragged into Gaza as hostages. I think of a mother hiding in a safe room with her baby’s mouth covered. I think of a father listening as the line went quiet. I think of families who waited month after month for someone to come home, only to receive a coffin. I didn’t need my faith to recognize the evil of what happened. My heart told me first. But I’m a Muslim and an imam, and I owe the world one honest sentence: what was done that day was a crime against God. God teaches that whoever kills one innocent soul, it is as if he had killed all humanity. This day has an author: Yahya Sinwar. He planned it, ordered it, and knew what would follow. Every death of that day and war he started rests on him and Hamas leaders who sat in tunnels and foreign hotels and called slaughter a victory. It rests on every Palestinian leader who cheered, excused, handed out sweets, or said nothing. They chose this. They own it. But Sinwar did not invent himself. He was the fruit of a tree planted almost a century ago by the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas named itself in its founding charter as the Brotherhood’s branch in Palestine. The Brotherhood’s poison is slow. It arrives through study circles, youth camps, charity boxes, and kind words to lonely young men. Drop by drop, it teaches him that his religion is a political party, his neighbour is his enemy, the Jew is the cause of his sorrow, and God is pleased by rage. By the time the gun arrives, the soul is already taken. I have seen this poison in mosques where sermons became rallies and young men could recite slogans but not sit still for a verse on mercy. Every people that let the Brotherhood in has paid in blood and ruined generations. It has never built anything it did not first set on fire. Behind Hamas stands another hand: the IRGC. It was the IRGC’s money, weapons, and training that turned a hateful idea into an army. One calls itself Sunni and the other Shia, and they may curse each other’s creeds, but they are united in what they worship. It is not God. It is power. The same IRGC that armed the killers of October 7 shoots Iranian girls for showing their hair, hangs young men for asking to be free, and has left graves from Tehran to Damascus to Beirut. They speak in God’s name. So did Pharaoh speak in the name of heaven. So let me say this clearly. Hamas and the IRGC are not merely enemies of Islam. That would be too small a charge, as if their crime were only against us. They are enemies of God. God is the Giver of life, yet they deal in death. God calls Himself the Most Merciful, yet they have made cruelty a sacrament. God honoured the children of Adam, yet they look at a child and see a target or a shield. To murder what God created and sign His name to it is the oldest blasphemy. And we Muslims have been too quiet. Some of us were afraid. Some told ourselves it was not our business. Some, God forgive them, felt something other than horror that morning and never confessed it. Silence was the soil this poison grew in. I will not add to it. So on this anniversary, let us say plainly what our scripture already says. The Jews are not our enemies. They are our cousins in Abraham, and their dead were created by the same God who created us. Today belongs to them: the murdered, the hostages, and families who still set a place at the table. To them I say: I am sorry for what was done to you by men who used the words of my prayers. You’re not alone in your grief or remembrance. The enemies of God are those who murder in His name. We know their names. It is time we said them from our own pulpits, in our own voices, before they speak for us again. Imam Tawhidi

37 years ago today, Michael returned to Gardner Street Elementary School in Los Angeles, California, the last public school he attended as a sixth grader for a dedication of the newly refurbished Michael Jackson auditorium. He accepted a commemorative plaque from his former teacher Laura Gerson and a the key to the school, then delivered a heartfelt message: he was “deeply touched and honored” that the auditorium where he once sat as a child was being named after him, reminding everyone that “the children are our future and without them humankind would become extinct.” MJ visited his old classroom (Room 8) and left his signature on the wall and chalkboard. Closing a rare, joyful circle between the boy who left for stardom and the global icon who never forgot where he started.

Jennifer Love Hewitt remembering the day she showed up at 10 years old for a L.A Gear commercial thinking she would be working with “some kid named Michael” only to meet the real Michael Jackson. He taught her his signature toe stand, she high fived Bubbles and MJ advised her to never lose the desire to do good for others then quietly sent a check in her name to a charity she was apart of. Then later came visits to Neverland including Thanksgiving. This is one of those rare stories that feel like pure childhood magic.

Någons måste det hitta in 🙏♥️)

BREAKING: President Trump on Elon Musk today: “First, we honor an industrial titan, a brilliant engineer, and one of the greatest technology founders to ever live. His name is Elon Musk. Quite honestly, there’s nobody like him. Few Americans in history have done more to advance America’s national interest than Elon. In one field after another, his genius and determination have made science fiction into reality. And that is so true. Elon founded SpaceX with his life savings in 2002 and created the first privately developed liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit in the face of vanishingly impossible odds. Nobody thought it was possible to do the things he’s doing, and in so many different ways. SpaceX saved NASA from relying on foreign nations to send our astronauts into space. And I want to congratulate SpaceX on the safe return of Crew-12 from the International Space Station just a few hours ago. Congratulations. Well, we wanted to make sure. Could you imagine if things didn’t work out so well? It would be not a very happy moment. I wonder if he’d be here. I think he might not be here. But it always works out well for Elon, right? We’re proud of you. Very proud of you. National treasure. Under Elon’s leadership, SpaceX has also developed Starship, the largest rocket in history, which is caught out of thin air for rapid reuse. And it’s the first time anyone has ever seen anything quite like it. They also created the largest-ever communication satellite network, Starlink. And in North Carolina, I will tell you personally, because I was involved, we had a hurricane, one of the great water hurricanes of all time. Delivered more water than at any time that we can remember on record. It saved hundreds of lives by calling Elon. I remember the governor said, ‘Sir, is there any way… do you know a man named Elon Musk?’ I said, ‘I happen to know him, yes.’ ‘We need Starlink because the water was so deep that many islands were created and the people had no way of getting off those islands, and they had no communication.’ And they said, ‘We cannot get anybody to help us.’ And I called up Elon, and it was like impossible to get this equipment. And he had it there in a matter of hours and saved hundreds of lives. Saved hundreds of lives in North Carolina. So, I never forgot that experience. It was a terrible time and the job he did. And he acted so fast. Everybody said they were impossible to get. So, thank you, Elon, for that very special moment. In addition, Elon created Tesla, the first successful new car manufacturer in over 75 years, producing the first commercially viable electric cars with the first consumer self-driving technology. And interestingly, when you mentioned Tesla, my uncle, Dr. John Trump, was commissioned by the United States government to do a report on Nikola Tesla. They wanted to know: was he real or not real? Was he a true genius or not? My uncle, after a fairly short period of time, determined that he was a true and great genius and that he was real in every single way. Otherwise, you’d have to change the name of the car company. You wouldn’t want to be a… See, now, if I did the report, Elon, I might say, ‘He wasn’t that good.’ But my uncle was a different kind of a person than I am. And he gave Tesla the highest report. He said he was a true, great genius. So, very nice. Through Neuralink, Elon is also restoring sight, speech, and motion to those who cannot see, talk, or move. And he turned SpaceX AI into one of the world’s leaders in superintelligence. Elon is our modern-day Thomas Edison. And, Elon, I want to congratulate you. You’re my friend in all of that, but you are a very, very special guy. Thank you very much, and congratulations, Elon. Great. Great job.”
