It's a week into the season and the NBA is averaging the most possessions per game, shortest average possession length, highest average pickup distance, and most possessions with at least three offensive players crashing in the tracking era. Playing very hard for 82 games!
I am not an injury expert, but I hope the NBA is doing a lot of honest self-assessment with injury experts to determine why this volume of injuries is already occurring.

Yes, Mr Lapid. And it’s up to you to step up to the plate and turn that defeat into a victory for your camp; by working with your fellow Israeli citizens who voted for Arab-led parties, to form a governing majority. I remember your speech at the UN when you were last PM. It had an inkling of a different future of peace for your country and our region. Find the courage to make it happen

The election results, if they’re anywhere near the exit polls, puts Israel in a fateful position. A clear majority is against the Netanyahu coalition. A clear majority is against a government including the Arab parties. The centrist parties have a massive dilemma here. Which taboo will they break? Netanyahu’s strategy is clear. Run a delegitimisation campaign against a government supported by the Arab parties and run down the clock until either part of the opposition breaks and joins him or there’s no alternative but to hold another election. Which he will have a better chance of winning. The opposition’s only alternative is to make the numbers, which on paper are in their favour, actually work. The opposition beat the Netanyahu camp. The Arab parties won an unprecedented number of seats. But to add those numbers together so they can support a sustainable government flies in the face of every Israeli political precedent. The next weeks and months will be tortuous and the increasingly likely outcome is just another election.

Initial results from Israel show clearly that the opposition bloc is a few seats ahead of Netayanu's. The two Arab-majority lists will get 17 or 18 seats together and hold balance of power. Israeli liberals now face a clear choice: work with Arabs if you want to oust Bibi.

💥"The last time the village mosque's loudspeakers were used for anything other than a prayer, a holiday, Ramadan, or a funeral was during the days of COVID when they called on everyone to go out and get vaccinated. Today it happened again. This time, the call to the residents was: Go out and vote."

Exit polls: Netanyahu (50 seats) can't form a government. The opposition (52-53) can, if it gets over its racism and forms a government supported by Arab parties that gained 17-18 seats. Otherwise the most likely scenario is another election and Bibi remaining a caretaker PM.

In 2021, Israel's short-lived anti-Netanyahu government included for the first time an independent Arab party, Ra'am. The backlash to that catapulted anti-Arab politicians like Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich into the next government. The backlash to that government appears to have resulted today in a record showing for Israel's Arab parties. As is always the case in politics, the story is never over, it is still being written.
