Thailand approved an extra 3.5 billion baht in September 2026 for its army, navy and air force to buy weapons, replace supplies and repair equipment following clashes along the Cambodian border. Thailand’s Joint Information Center on the Thailand-Cambodia Situation placed the September border alert at level 1.5, between green and yellow, indicating heightened monitoring while conditions remained calm. 🎙️1MDB is usually remembered as a story of stolen state funds - billions moved through offshore structures to finance political power, luxury assets and a Hollywood film. The more consequential chapter came after the theft was exposed: the story shifted from kleptocracy and professional enablers to alleged inflated infrastructure deals, Belt and Road projects, Kuwait-based laundering routes, and China's strategic interest in Malaysia. In this episode of #STRPodcast, journalist Clare Rewcastle Brown tells @keatingetom how a domestic corruption scandal became a case study in how financial vulnerability opens the door to foreign leverage. This is a brilliant piece of journalism - literally deconstructing the latest Russian strike drone, explaining how it works and where the components needed to make it work are being sourced by Russia, even after 4+ years of war
RFE/RL takes apart a Russian Geran-4 drone to uncover what makes the jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) faster, harder to intercept, and capable of operating deep inside Ukraine -- from its turbojet engine and advanced camera to foreign-made communications and navigation components. @cxemu @radiosvoboda
