A chart referenced on today's show (from
rbsdm.com). Cowboys *are* a pass heavy team this year. They pass about 2.7% more than "expected," which is about 3.9% above league average (league average is -1.3% expected, DAL is actually one of only 13 teams that throws the ball as much as they "should," all situations considered). Overall, Dallas ranks 7th in pass rate.
Where they rank very low, and seemingly no matter who they hire, they will continue to rank low, is 2nd 1-2. their mark of -21.4% ranks 28th.
They had a 2nd 1 last night on the third drive of the game, ran it, picked it up, and then threw incomplete three times. It's just disconnected.
Last year on 2nd 1-2 they ran it 21 times, threw it 7 times. This year they're at 14 rushes, 2 passes.
